Stefan Wessels (basketball)
Stefan Wessels (born 13 April 1984) is a Dutch retired basketball player. He is the current General Manager of Heroes Den Bosch. In his playing career, Wessels has played for ABC Amsterdam and Heroes Den Bosch. Wessels also presented the Dutch national basketball team on various tournaments. Professional career Wessels started his professional career in 2004, with the Amsterdam Astronauts of the Dutch top-tier Eredivisie. He was a member of the 2005, 2008 and 2009 championship teams. He also made his appearances in European competitions, as Amsterdam played in the Eurocup and EuroChallenge throughout the years. In 2009, Wessels transferred to EiffelTowers Den Bosch Heroes Den Bosch is a Dutch professional basketball club based in 's-Hertogenbosch. Power Forward (basketball)
The power forward (PF), also known as the four or strong forward, is a position in basketball. Power forwards play a role similar to centers. Dutch National Basketball Team
The Netherlands men's national basketball team ( nl, Het Nederlands nationaal basketbalteam) represents the Netherlands in international basketball matches. The national team is governed by Basketball Nederland. The Dutch have reached the European Basketball Championship on 15 occasions. Their best results at the event came in 1983, where they finished in fourth place. They have also qualified for the FIBA World Cup once, in 1986. ABC Amsterdam
Amsterdam Basketball was a Dutch professional basketball club from the city of Amsterdam, established in 1995 and dissolved in 2011. The club won the Dutch championship seven times and the Dutch Cup five times. History Early years (1995–1997) After it was announced that the Graydons Canadians, a team from Amsterdam would not participate in the Eredivisie of 1995–96, Ed de Haas, Carlo Brunink and Oscar Kales founded the club. DBL All-Star Gala
The Dutch Basketball League All-Star Gala was a yearly basketball event in the Netherlands, organised by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). During the event the yearly All-Star Game was played, which included the best players of a given DBL season. Additionally, a dunk Contest and three-point contest were also held at the event. Since the 2017–18 season, the event is no longer organised by the FEB.
