''Stay'' is a compilation album of songs by American new wave band Oingo Boingo. The album was only released in Brazil. Background Oingo Boingo had only achieved limited success in Brazil until 1988, when the "live in the studio" double album ''Boingo Alive'' brought the band to the top of the charts. Four songs from the album, namely "Stay", "Just Another Day", "Dead Man's Party" and "Not My Slave", became major hits on the Brazilian charts during 1989–1990. Oingo Boingo () was an American new wave band formed by songwriter Danny Elfman in 1979. The band emerged from a surrealist musical theatre troupe, The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, that Elfman had led and written material for in the years previous. Their highest charting song, " Weird Science", reached No. 45 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Oingo Boingo were known for their high energy live concerts and experimental music, which can be described as mixing rock, ska, pop, and world music. "Weird Science" is a song by Oingo Boingo. Written by frontman Danny Elfman, it is the theme song to the ''Weird Science'' film and television series. It was released on the film's soundtrack, as well as Oingo Boingo's 1985 album, '' Dead Man's Party'', as a longer mix. The song reached #45 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, #21 on the US Dance Club Charts, and #81 in Canada. It is Oingo Boingo's most successful single. Recording The song was written spontaneously by Elfman in the car, while driving home to Los Angeles, after a phone call from director John Hughes asking him to write a song for his movie of the same name. ''Nothing to Fear'' is the second studio album by American new wave band Oingo Boingo, released in 1982 on A&M Records. Music ''Nothing to Fear'' possesses a more hard-edged sound than the band's previous releases, featuring louder electric guitar and percussion, an increased and more varied use of synthesizers and the introduction of sequencers on some tracks. The songs also feature an unorthodox range of instruments, some of which were designed and built by the band. ''Boi-Ngo'' (stylized as ''BOI-NGO'') is the sixth studio album by American new wave band Oingo Boingo, released in 1987. Production ''Boi-Ngo'' was the third Oingo Boingo album to be self-produced by Danny Elfman and Steve Bartek (including ''So-Lo''). The tracks "Pain", "We Close Our Eyes" and "Not My Slave" were released as singles. Several other songs, "Remember My Name," "Inside", "Mama" and "Find You", were recorded for the album but not included. ''Dead Man's Party'' is the fifth album by American new wave band Oingo Boingo, released in 1985.
