Thorvald Stauning
Thorvald August Marinus Stauning (; 26 October 1873 in Copenhagen – 3 May 1942) was the first social democratic Prime Minister of Denmark. He served as Prime Minister from 1924 to 1926 and again from 1929 until his death in 1942. Under Stauning's leadership, Denmark, like the other Western European countries, developed a social welfare state, and though many of his ambitions for Social Democracy were ultimately thwarted in his lifetime by events beyond his control, his leadership through grave times places Stauning among the most admired of twentieth-century Danish statesmen. The Stauning Alps, a large mountain range in Greenland, were named after him. Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs of Denmark ( da, kirkeminister, lit. ''Minister for the Church'') is a Danish political minister office. The main responsibility of the minister is the Church of Denmark. The minister is politically appointed without any requirements being a member of the state church. The office was created in 1916 when the post Kultus Minister was split up into the posts of Education Minister and Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs. The new Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs also took over the responsibility for culture from the Kultus Minister. In 1961 responsibility for culture was transferred to the Minister for Cultural Affairs. Since 15 December 2022, Louise Schack Elholm from Venstre, holds the post in the Second Frederiksen Cabinet. Cabinet Of Denmark
The Cabinet of Denmark ( da, regering) has been the chief executive body and the government of the Kingdom of Denmark since 1848. The Cabinet is led by the Prime Minister. There are around 25 members of the Cabinet, known as "ministers", all of whom are also heads of specific government ministries. The Cabinet has usually been composed of Ministers from two or more parties forming a coalition government. Still, most of these governments have been minority governments, relying on the support of still other parties. Cabinets are formally appointed by the Monarch. In practice, once a government has stepped down, there is a fixed set of rules for appointing an investigator (most often the future Prime Minister), with the job of trying to form a new government. John Christmas Møller
Guido Leo John Christmas Møller, usually known as Christmas Møller (3 April 1894 in Copenhagen – 13 April 1948 in Copenhagen) was a Danish politician representing the Conservative People's Party (Denmark), Conservative People's Party. Life Møller was elected as a Conservative member of the Folketinget, Folketing and in 1928 became leader of his party, a role he still held at the beginning of the Second World War. After the German occupation of Denmark, he joined a coalition cabinet, but in October 1940, following German pressure, he was forced to resign from the government, as the German authorities felt he was too negative towards them. Three months later, in 1941, he was forced to abandon his seat in folketinget, parliament altogether for the same reason. He was then instrumental in founding the underground press, underground newspaper ''Frit Danmark''. Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries of Denmark ( da, Minister for Fødevarer, Landbrug og Fiskeri) is the politically appointed head of the Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and a member of the Cabinet. Gunnar Larsen (politician)
Gunnar Larsen (1902–1973) was a Danish chemical engineer, businessman and politician. He served as the minister for transport between 1940 and 1943. He left Denmark in 1954 and exiled into Ireland where he lived until his death. Biography Larsen was born on 10 January 1902. He was an engineer by profession and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology obtaining a degree in chemical engineering in 1926. He was named as the director of FL Smidth & Co. in 1935 becoming a prominent figure in the Danish industry. Larsen replaced his father as the director of the company. Larsen was one of the confidantes of Danish politician Erik Scavenius. He resigned from the company on 8 July 1940 when he was appointed minister of transport. Knud Kristensen
Knud Kristensen (26 October 1880 – 28 September 1962) was Prime Minister of Denmark from 7 November 1945 to 13 November 1947 in the first elected government after the German occupation of Denmark during World War II. After the October 1945 election, Knud Kristensen formed the Cabinet of Knud Kristensen ( da, Regeringen Knud Kristensen), a minority government consisting only of his liberal party ( da, Venstre). The Minister of the Interior and Health of Denmark ( da, Indenrigs- og sundhedsminister) is a member of the Danish cabinet and the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Health. After the 2007 Folketing elections, the ministry was disbanded, and its areas of responsibility divided between two newly created ministries, the Ministry of Welfare and the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
