State Reform Party
Sarawak People's Aspiration Party or ( ms, "Parti Aspirasi Rakyat Sarawak", abbreviated ASPIRASI), is a political party based in Sarawak, Malaysia, renamed and rebranded from previously State Reform Party abbreviated STAR. Background and history: State Reform Party (STAR) File:State Reform Party Flag.svg, State Reform Party original logo (1996-2020) The party began as the ''State Reform Party'' (STAR) in the 1990s founded by Patau Rubis, using a 9-pointed star derived from the state flag as its logo. Homeland Solidarity Party
Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR; ms, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku ) is a Sabah-based political party. The party was founded on 1 July 2016 by Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan. He is Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan's younger brother, the former chief minister of Sabah and ex-president of United Sabah Party (PBS). STAR Party was one of three founding parties of the United Sabah Alliance (USA) founded in 2016 and United Alliance of Sabah (UAOS) founded in 2018, the other being the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and United Sabah Party (PBS). The party entered into an alliance with Barisan Nasional coalition after the 2018 Sabah state election and formed the state government. 2021 Sarawak State Election
The 2021 Sarawak state election, formally the 12th Sarawak general election, took place on 18 December 2021. This election was to elect 82 members of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 3 November 2021. As the previous assembly first sat on 7 June 2016, it was originally set to be dissolved automatically on 7 June 2021. However, the 2021 state emergency declaration, preceded by a federal 2021 Malaysian state of emergency declaration nationwide, arising from the 2020–21 political crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, suspended the automatic dissolution of the legislature until the proposed end of the emergency duration on 2 February 2022. ''Trogonoptera brookiana'', Rajah Brooke's birdwing, is a birdwing butterfly from the rainforests of the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Natuna, Sumatra, and various small islands west of Sumatra ( Banyak, Simeulue, Batu and Mentawai).ARKivRajah Brooke’s birdwing. The ''New Straits Times'' is an English-language newspaper published in Malaysia. It is Malaysia's oldest newspaper still in print (though not the first), having been founded as ''The Straits Times'' on 15 July 1845. It was relaunched as the ''New Straits Times'' on 13 August 1974. The paper served as Malaysia's only broadsheet format English-language newspaper. United Borneo Alliance
United Borneo Alliance (abbreviated UBA), was formed by Jeffrey Kitingan in 2012 after he launched the Sabah chapter of Sarawak-based State Reform Party (STAR). Jeffrey also had earlier set-up the preceding United Borneo Front (UBF), the formation of an alliance comprising the State Reform Party (STAR), United Sabah National Organisation (USNO), Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and Sarawak National Party (SNAP) (In 2022, the three parties have officially joined together in the GRS Coalition, while the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) was dissolved on 17 January 2013). Jeffrey Kitingan
Jeffrey Gapari Kitingan (born 22 October 1948) is Malaysian politician. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister II of Sabah from 2020 to 2023 and State Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries since 2020 (also served in the same position for a brief period in May 2018). In January 2023, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister I of Sabah succeeding Bung Mokhtar, who was dropped due to a political crisis (but retained his ministerial portfolio).
