SmartGov is a software company based in Cambridge (UK) that aggregates and processes layers of socio-economic data to make the socio-economics of a given location understandable and analyzable. History The project behind SmartGov.co was started by Nathan Boublil, Elliott Verreault and Agastya Muthanna at the University of Cambridge in November 2012. Government entities worldwide produce millions of spreadsheets of socio-economic data each year, increasingly released on hundreds of different statistical portals (Open Data). SmartGov develops software technology to automatically aggregate, process, standardize and geolocalize these datasets. SmartGov incorporated in England and Wales on July 29, 2013 as Stat.io Ltd. A Startup Weekend (also known as Startupweekend or SW) is a 54-hour entrepreneurship educational competitive event, in which groups of participants form teams around ideas the Friday evening, and work during the weekend to develop a working prototype, demo, and VC presentation by Sunday evening. Startup Weekend is a hackathon like event with a global presence. As of December 2016, it has reached 135 countries, involving over 210,000 entrepreneurs. Edwin Mah Lee (Chinese: 李孟賢; May 5, 1952 – December 12, 2017) was an American politician and attorney who served as the 43rd Mayor of San Francisco from 2011 until his death. He was the first Asian American to hold the office. Born in Seattle to Chinese-American parents, Lee was a member of the Democratic Party.
