Starship Down
"Starship Down" is the 79th episode of the science fiction television series ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', the sixth episode of the fourth season. Set in the 24th century, the series follows the adventures on Deep Space Nine, a space station located near a stable wormhole between the Alpha and Gamma quadrants of the galaxy; the Gamma Quadrant is home to a powerful empire known as the Dominion. In this episode, the Deep Space Nine staff host secret trade negotiations with a Dominion subject aboard the starship '' Defiant'', but the ship is heavily damaged in an attack by the Dominion's Jem'Hadar soldiers. ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'' (abbreviated as ''DS9'') is an American science fiction television series created by Rick Berman and Michael Piller. Julian Subatoi Bashir, MD is a fictional character from the television series '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', portrayed by Alexander Siddig. Bashir is the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of space station Deep Space Nine and the USS ''Defiant''. Jadzia Dax , played by Terry Farrell, is a fictional character from the science-fiction television series '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine''. Jadzia Dax is a joined Trill. Though she appears to be a young woman, Jadzia lives in symbiosis with a long-lived creature, known as a symbiont, named Dax. The Ferengi () are a fictional extraterrestrial species in the American science fiction franchise ''Star Trek''.
