Star Trek Roleplaying Game
''Star Trek Roleplaying Game'' is a role-playing game (RPG) set in the ''Star Trek'' universe using the ''CODA System'' rules and first published by Decipher, Inc. in 2002. When Decipher acquired the rights to create the RPG, they also acquired most of the gaming studio from Last Unicorn Games. However, the Decipher game system is dissimilar to the one that Last Unicorn published. Instead, the system is similar to Wizards of the Coast's '' d20 System'' but uses 2D6 to resolve actions. RPGnet
RPGnet is a role-playing game website. It includes sections on wargaming, wargames, tabletop games and video games, as well as columns on gaming topics. RPGnet was founded in 1996 by Emma and Sandy Antunes, Shawn Althouse ( etrigan) and Brian David Phillips, as a way to unify a number of transient game sites. In 2001 it was purchased by Skotos Tech, but maintains creative and editorial autonomy. Gamemaster's Screen
A gamemaster's screen, also called a GM's screen, is a gaming accessory, usually made out of either cardboard or card stock, and is used by the gamemaster to hide all the relevant data related to a tabletop role-playing game session from the players in order to not spoil the plot of the story. It also hides any dice rolls made by the gamemaster that players should not see. In addition, screens often have essential tables and information printed on the inside for the gamemaster to easily reference during play. History The first commercial gamemaster's screen was the '' Judge's Shield'', produced by Judges Guild in 1977 for use with ''Dungeons & Dragons''. This featured three pieces of 8.5" x 11" cardstock designed to be taped together to form a three-panel screen, the two outer pieces in a vertical (portrait) orientation, and the middle piece in a horizontal (landscape) orientation. Kenneth Hite (born September 15, 1965) is a writer and role-playing game designer. Hite is the author of Trail of Cthulhu and Night's Black Agents role-playing games, and lead designer of the 5th edition of '' Vampire: the Masquerade''. Education Hite holds an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree in Cartography from East Central University. Career Kenneth Hite has been designing games part-time since 1981 and full-time since 1995. The ''CODA System'' is a role-playing game system designed by Decipher, Inc. Description After Last Unicorn Games was purchased by Wizards of the Coast some of the staff from Last Unicorn started working for Decipher, Inc. where they created their '' Star Trek Roleplaying Game'', which used the ''CODA System''. The ''CODA System'' was also used, in an altered form, in their '' Lord of the Rings Roleplaying Game''. It was published in two 256-page hardcover books. It uses six-sided dice to resolve actions.
