The Star Awards for All-Time Favourite Artiste is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994. History The category was introduced in 2004, at the 11th Star Awards ceremony; Chew Chor Meng, Li Nanxing and Zoe Tay received the award after winning the Top 10 Most Popular Male or Female Artistes award from 1994 to 2003. It is given in honour of an artiste who has won the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes or Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes award for ten times (wins not necessary to be consecutive). Artistes who receive the award will no longer be eligible for the running of their respective Top 10 Most Popular Male or Female Artistes award from the year onwards. The award was not presented in 2007, 2013 and 2018 as there was no artiste with ten Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes or Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes accumulated wins that allowed the award to be presented in those years. Star Awards
The Star Awards (Chinese: 红星大奖) are awards for artistic and technical merit in the media organisation Mediacorp of Singapore where Mediacorp recognises entertainers under their employment for outstanding performances of the year. The awards are given annually in a ceremony. The various category winners are awarded a trophy, with initial designs featuring various star shapes. The star was subsequently removed and the trophy is designed as a S shaped column, depicting the star. History The 1st Star Awards presentation was held on 26 February 1994, took place at the Caldecott Broadcast Centre, MediaCorp TV Theatre with an audience of about 500 people. There have no other pre-show and post-awards ceremony held in that year. Star Awards 2004 was a television award telecasted in 2004 as part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. This award was the 11th installment since its first presentation in 1994, ten years ago. Star Awards 2012 (Chinese: 红星大奖 2012) was a double television award ceremony held in Singapore. It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for the two free-to-air channels, MediaCorp Channel 8 and MediaCorp Channel U. ''Star Awards 2012'' was live broadcast on Channel 8, on 22 and 29 April 2012, and the Post-Show party on Channel U after the broadcast of the second award ceremony. Similar to the preceding ceremonies since 2010, the ceremony was split into two separate shows. The first show, titled 光辉大赏 (lit. Xiang Yun
Chen Cuichang (born 27 October 1961), better known by her stage name Xiang Yun, is a Singaporean actress & television host. She is commonly referred to as MediaCorp's first "Ah Jie" (Senior actress) for being among the first locally trained artistes and has been in the entertainment industry for more than 29 years. It is part of the annual ''Star Awards'' organised by MediaCorp for the two free-to-air channels, MediaCorp Channel 8 and MediaCorp Channel U. As like the preceding year's ceremony, this year's ''Star Awards'' were broadcast in two live-telecast shows on Channel 8, on 17 and 24 April. The first show, titled 银光闪耀 (lit. Mark Lee Kok Huang (; born 16 October 1968) is a Singaporean comedian, actor, television host and film director. Early life Lee's father was a barber, and his mother was a food and beverage stall assistant. Christopher Lee Meng Soon (; born 23 July 1971) is a Malaysian actor, host and singer based in Singapore. Early life Lee studied up to form 5 in Sekolah Menengah Seri Kota, Air Leleh, Malacca, Malaysia. Huang Biren
Huang Biren (born 7 March 1969) is a Singaporean actress best known for appearing in numerous MediaCorp Channel 8 television dramas. She was prominently a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1988 to 2008, but continues to film on an ad-hoc basis. Huang left Mediacorp on 30 June 2008, due to the new contract terms offered to her and she also wanted to spend more time with her family, especially her 5-month-old infant girl. Career Huang joined the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (now MediaCorp) in 1988 after completing its Professional Drama Performers' Training course.
