Star Awards 2013 ( Chinese: 红星大奖 2013) was a double television award ceremony held in Singapore. It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for the two free-to-air channels, MediaCorp Channel 8 and MediaCorp Channel U. Star Awards 2013 was broadcast live on Channel 8, on 21 April 2013 and 28 April 2013. The first ceremony was held at the MediaCorp TV Theatre while the second ceremony was held at the Marina Bay Sands. The ceremonies were also broadcast on 8 International and the second ceremony on Astro AEC & Astro Quan Jia HD for the first time in HD. As with the previous three years, viewers were able to catch the presentation of the Professional awards (given out to backstage crew and scriptwriters) on Channel 8. The ceremony was aired live on 21 April, while the annual Star Awards prize presentation (for performance based and popularity awards) was aired on 28 April. Tay Kewei
Tay Kewei (; born 18 August 1983) is a Singaporean singer-songwriter. She has released songs in English, Chinese, and Japanese. Professional background In 2006, Tay Kewei joined local singing competition Project SuperStar, initially getting into the top 24, but having to withdraw eventually due to conflicting gig schedules. After that, she decided to pursue a career in music, and became a background vocalist, duet partner, and erhu player for Chinese pop stars, including Wang Lee Hom, David Tao, A-Mei and JJ Lin assisting them on international tours. In 2009, she released an indie EP with keyboardist Lee Ein Ein, entitled ''KEEP!''. Promotional tours were held in several countries, including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. Power Station (Taiwanese Band)
Power Station () is a Taiwanese rock duo, composed of Yu Chiu-hsin (尤秋興) and Yen Chih-lin (顏志琳), both of the Paiwan tribe of Taiwan's Pingtung County. Their music is characterized by their energetic rock ballads, as well as their electrifying rock anthems. Their looks and long hair stand out from the mainstream Taiwan pop scene because of their resemblance to western heavy metal musicians. Jump! (跳浪) is a Singaporean Chinese drama which aired on MediaCorp Channel U in May 2012. It was aired on weekdays in the 10pm time slot. The series features Jeanette Aw, Zhang Zhenhuan, and Taiwan-based Singaporean singer Wong Jing Lun in his acting debut. Plot Xiao Chunli is a Chinese teacher at Blue Sky Secondary School, neighbourhood school notorious for its rock-bottom results and delinquency. The Star Awards for All-Time Favourite Artiste is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994. History The category was introduced in 2004, at the 11th Star Awards ceremony; Chew Chor Meng, Li Nanxing and Zoe Tay received the award after winning the Top 10 Most Popular Male or Female Artistes award from 1994 to 2003.
