Star Awards 2012 (Chinese: 红星大奖 2012) was a double television award ceremony held in Singapore. It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for the two free-to-air channels, MediaCorp Channel 8 and MediaCorp Channel U. ''Star Awards 2012'' was live broadcast on Channel 8, on 22 and 29 April 2012, and the Post-Show party on Channel U after the broadcast of the second award ceremony. Similar to the preceding ceremonies since 2010, the ceremony was split into two separate shows. The first show, titled 光辉大赏 (lit. Glorious Showcase), which focused on Professional and technical awards (which was given out to backstage crew and scriptwriters) as well as showcasing various drama skits to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Chinese Drama Serials. The second show, titled 颁奖礼 (lit. Award Showcase), was held at the Grand Ballroom in Marina Bay Sands, which focused on main category awards honoring the television series of 2011-12. Star Awards 2011 (Chinese: 红星大奖 2011) was a double television award ceremony held in Singapore. It is part of the annual ''Star Awards'' organised by MediaCorp for the two free-to-air channels, MediaCorp Channel 8 and MediaCorp Channel U. As like the preceding year's ceremony, this year's ''Star Awards'' were broadcast in two live-telecast shows on Channel 8, on 17 and 24 April. The first show, titled 银光闪耀 (lit. Blinding Silverlight) was broadcast live on 17 April 2011 at MediaCorp Studios, which primarily focuses on giving out mostly technical awards and the Favourite popularity awards which introduced since last year. Anthony Neely
Anthony Neely (born May 20, 1986) is an American-Taiwanese singer and actor. His father is of Euro-American descent and his mother is Taiwanese. In 2009, Neely participated in popular singing competition ''One Million Star'' (Season 5) as a PK (Player Kill) challenger. His performances created sensations after receiving full marks of 25 points on three occasions, and also being the first in the reality show's history to score a record 33 out of 25 points. Early years Neely double-majored in psychology and theatre studies at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese. Kampong Ties is a Malaysian-Singaporean television drama series (co-production). It is also the third production by MediaCorp Studios Malaysia Sdn Bhd. It was telecast from every Monday to Thursday, at 10:00pm on Malaysia's ntv7, starting 27 September and ended on 16 November 2011. ''A Song to Remember'' (simplified Chinese: 星洲之夜) is a MediaCorp Channel 8 historical-cum-musical drama which is set in the 1930s to 1940s in early Singapore before World War II. It debuted on Channel 8 on 22 November 2011 and was telecast every weekday night at 9.00 pm. It stars Qi Yuwu , Joanne Peh , Eelyn Kok , Julie Tan , Desmond Tan , Chen Hanwei & Pan Lingling as the casts of the series. It is a year end blockbuster for 2011. The Series is repeated at 5.30pm on Channel 8 on weekdays and 4.30pm on weekends. Mavis Hee (born Xu MeiJing, , 27 September 1974) is a Singaporean singer, songwriter and actress. She was the second runner-up and also Miss Photogenic and Miss Amity for Singapore's Miss Chinatown Pageant 1992. Career Hee's first album ''Knowingly'' () was released in August 1994. A remake is a film, television series, video game, song or similar form of entertainment that is based upon and retells the story of an earlier production in the same medium—e.g., a "new version of an existing film".
