Star Awards 2007
Star Awards 2007 () was a television award ceremony held in Singapore. It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. It was the first ''Star Awards'' ceremony to be broadcast in two weeks putting emphasis on two programmes; the first ceremony, broadcast on 9 December 2007, titled 红星大奖之戏剧情牵25 (lit. ''Star Awards 25th Drama Anniversary''), commentating 25 years of drama in the Television in Singapore (the ceremony would later become a legacy of having a separate presentation of Professional and Technical awards, which would not happen until '' Star Awards 2010''). The second show, airing 16 December 2007, would be a regular ceremony. The 2007 ceremony was notable as it was the last ceremony to be held at the end of the year (months of December). Guo Liang (actor)
Guo Liang (born 11 November 1970) is a Chinese-born Singaporean actor and television host. Career Guo graduated from the Shanghai Drama Institute and moved to Singapore during the 1990s to join the Television Corporation of Singapore (predecessor of MediaCorp). He joined TCS in 1994. He joined SPH MediaWorks in late 2000 but returned to MediaCorp in 2005 when the two companies merged. Although trained as an actor, he is mostly known in Singapore as a presenter of MediaCorp Channel 8 current affairs programme '' Hello Singapore'' (狮城有约) but he stop as a presenter as he will return to MediaCorp as a full-time artiste and host of the Star Awards. James Lye (, born 17 June 1969), born ''James Lye Tiang Kang'', is a banking executive and former Mediacorp Singaporean television and Raintree Pictures movie actor. Michelle Chia (; born 19 September 1975) is a former Singaporean actress and television host. She was prominently a full-time Mediacorp artiste from 1980 to 2012 but continues to film on an ad-hoc basis. Career Acting career Chia started her career as a child actress with SBC. Bryan Wong Lok Kiang (, born on 30 January 1971) is a Singaporean television host and actor. Star Awards 2004 was a television award telecasted in 2004 as part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for MediaCorp TV Channel 8. This award was the 11th installment since its first presentation in 1994, ten years ago. The Star Awards for All-Time Favourite Artiste is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994. History The category was introduced in 2004, at the 11th Star Awards ceremony; Chew Chor Meng, Li Nanxing and Zoe Tay received the award after winning the Top 10 Most Popular Male or Female Artistes award from 1994 to 2003. It is given in honour of an artiste who has won the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes or Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes award for ten times (wins not necessary to be consecutive). Artistes who receive the award will no longer be eligible for the running of their respective Top 10 Most Popular Male or Female Artistes award from the year onwards.
