Michael Marrone (boxer)
Michael Marrone (born September 24, 1985) is an American professional boxer. He challenged for the WBA cruiserweight title in 2011. Beginnings and amateur As a child Marrone frequented the gym of the Duva family in Florida. He became close to Lou Duva who promoted and represented Marrone. At the National Golden Gloves tournament in 2003 he competed at Heavyweight with 201 lbs limit. He went up to super heavyweight and beat Mike Wilson in the PAL tournament 2003. In the finals he was outpointed by George Garcia, however. His amateur record was 42–9. Professional career He turned pro in 2004 at age 18. Marrone's record as of October 2011 is 20-3-0 with 15 knockouts. Marrone scored a victory in April 2007 with an eight-round majority decision against previously undefeated Malachy Farrell in Atlantic City. Stanley Cassin Taylor (7 December 1896 – 9 August 1982) was an Australian barrister and judge. Taylor served as the President of Industrial Commission of New South Wales between 1942 and 1966. Background and early career He was born at Rylstone to farmer John Orchard Taylor and Helen Russell, ''née'' Clarke. He attended Burwood Superior Public School before becoming a junior clerk with the State Department of the Attorney-General and of Justice in November 1912. He joined the Australian Labor Party at the age of seventeen and was active in the anti-conscription campaigns of 1916–17. He ran unsuccessfully for Ryde at the 1925 state election, but was expelled from 1927 to 1930. Edgar Stanley Taylor (22 Sep 1909 – 31 May 1966) was a British trade unionist, who served on the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Labour Party. Russell Street Bombing
The Russell Street bombing was the 27 March 1986 bombing of the Russell Street Police Headquarters complex in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The explosion killed Angela Rose Taylor, the first Australian policewoman to be killed in the line of duty. The materials for the bomb were stolen from Tyrconnel Mine. Several men were arrested for suspected involvement with the bombing. Stanley Taylor and Craig Minogue were convicted of murder and various other offences related to the bombing. Peter Reed and Rodney Minogue were acquitted of any offences related to the bombing but Reed was convicted of a number of offences related to his arrest, which involved a shootout with police officers in which he and an officer were wounded. He was sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment. Explosion The explosion was caused by a car bomb hidden in a stolen 1979 Holden Commodore, bearing Victoria registration plate, ''AVQ-508''.
