Tomasz Stańko
Tomasz Ludwik Stańko (11 July 1942 – 29 July 2018) was a Polish trumpeter and composer. Stańko was associated with free jazz and the avant-garde. In 1962, Tomasz Stańko formed his first band, the Jazz Darings, with saxophonist Janusz Muniak, pianist Adam Makowicz, bassist Jacek Ostaszewski, drummer Wiktor Perelmuter. Inspired by Ornette Coleman and the innovations of John Coltrane, Miles Davis and George Russell, the group is often cited by music historians as the first European group to play free jazz. In his later years, he collaborated with pianist Krzysztof Komeda on Komeda's album '' Astigmatic'', recorded in late 1965. In 1968, Stańko formed a quintet whose members were Janusz Muniak (tenor and soprano saxophones, flute), Zbigniew Seifert (alto sax and violin), Bronisław Suchanek (bass), Janusz Stefański (drums, percussion). Stephen Christopher Stanko (born January 13, 1968, Guantánamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba) is an American convicted murderer, who killed two people and raped a teenage girl in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina in 2005. Prior to the murders Before his murder conviction, Stanko had been incarcerated for assault and kidnapping in 1996. Stanko was released from prison in 2004 after serving 8 years of the 10-year sentence. Stanko Vraz (born Jakob Frass; 30 June 1810 – 20 May 1851) was a Slovenian- Croatian poet. He Slavicized his name to ''Stanko Vraz'' in 1836. Stanko Abadžić (born 1952 in Vukovar) is a Croatian photographer and photojournalist. He lives and works in Zagreb, Croatia. Stanko Abadžić began his professional career in photography as a photojournalist for the Croatian daily newspaper Vjesnik. During that period he made well-known reportages from Tunisia, Malta, Turkey and other countries. After the onset of the Croatian war of independence in 1991, Abadžić moved abroad and would not return to Croatia for many years. Stanko Bloudek (11 February 1890 – 26 November 1959) was a Slovenian aeroplane and automobile designer, a sportsman and a sport inventor, designer, builder and educator. Biography Stanko Bloudek was born on 11 February 1890 as son of a Czech father and a Slovenian mother in the Slovenian mining town of Idrija. He attended school in Most (in today’s Czech Republic), where his father worked in the local mining industry. After graduating from secondary school in 1908, Bloudek studied in Prague. At first, he studied at the Academy of Arts, but found it was not his interest and switched to technical studies. He never graduated from the academy, but was nonetheless regarded as an engineer. Stanko "Špaco" Poklepović (19 April 1938 – 24 December 2018) was a Croatian professional football player and manager. Poklepović managed a number of teams over 46 years, including Hajduk Split on four occasions. He was also the first manager to win the Croatian First Football League with Hajduk Split, in its inaugural season, in 1992.
