''Stance'' is a 12" 45rpm e.p. (extended play) vinyl record by DIY home recording pioneer and one-man band R. Stevie Moore. The 3-track disc was issued by Moore's uncle Harry Palmer's H.P. Music of Verona NJ in September 1978. It contains Moore's songs and sound experiments from Nashville TN sessions, all originally recorded on 1/4 track 7 ips reel-to-reel stereo tape decks. The front cover drawing was done by the artist. ''Stance'' was included in its entirety as bonus tracks on the compact disc reissue of RSM's second album ''Delicate Tension'' in July 2004 by Alan Jenkins' private label Cordelia Records Cordelia is a feminine given name. Psychedelic Pop
Psychedelic pop (or acid pop) is pop music that contains musical characteristics associated with psychedelic music. Developing in the late 1960s, elements included " trippy" features such as fuzz guitars, tape manipulation, backwards recording, sitars, and Beach Boys-style harmonies, wedded to melodic songs with tight song structures. The style lasted into the early 1970s. It has seen revivals in subsequent decades by neo-psychedelic artists. Characteristics According to AllMusic, psychedelic pop was not too "freaky", but also not very "bubblegum" either. It appropriated the effects associated with straight psychedelic music, applying their innovations to concise pop songs. Lo-fi (also typeset as lofi or low-fi; short for low fidelity) is a music or production quality in which elements usually regarded as imperfections in the context of a recording or performance are present, sometimes as a deliberate choice. The standards of sound quality (fidelity) and music production have evolved throughout the decades, meaning that some older examples of lo-fi may not have been originally recognized as such. Phonography (album)
''Phonography'' is the first official album by American multi-instrumentalist R. Stevie Moore, released in 1976 on the artist's private Vital Records "label". Its initial vinyl pressing was limited to 100 copies. The album mostly consists of selections from his self-released albums ''Stevie Moore Often'' (1975) and ''Stevie Moore Returns'' (1976), all recorded on 1/4 track 7½ ips reel-to-reel stereo tape decks. A 7-inch EP was issued in 1977 called ''Four from Phonography'', which was the debut release by Moore's uncle Harry Palmer's H.P. Music label. The album attracted a following among New York's punk and new wave circles. One contemporary review in New York's ''Trouser Press'' magazine called the album "an outrageous collection of musical brain spewage" and "a true slash of genius". ''Delicate Tension'' is the second official album by American musician R. Stevie Moore, issued in a small pressing by his uncle Harry Palmer's H.P. Music in November 1978. The album is the follow-up to the compilation ''Phonography (album), Phonography'' (1976). It mainly contains Moore's new songs and sound experiments captured since his recent move north from Nashville to New Jersey, all recorded on 1/4 track 7½ ips reel-to-reel stereo tape decks. The album cover was designed by Moore himself. "I Go Into Your Mind" was later remade and released on 2006's ''The Yung & Moore Show''. Reissues ''Delicate Tension'' was reissued on compact disc in July 2004 by Cordelia Records in the UK. It included 10 bonus tracks, including the complete Stance e.p. from September 1978, as well as rare photos and an extensive e-mail interview by Jenkins. Harry Palmer is the anti-hero protagonist of a number of films based on the unnamed main character, a secret agent, in the spy novels written by Len Deighton. Reel-to-reel audio tape recording, also called open-reel recording, is magnetic tape audio recording in which the recording tape is spooled between reels.
