Zakładowy Klub Sportowy Stal Stalowa Wola, shortly ZKS Stal Stalowa Wola or simply Stal Stalowa Wola, is a Polish multi-sports club based in Stalowa Wola, Poland. It operates a men's soccer (training youths), men's basketball and women's basketball sections. History In 1938, , who was the director of Huta Stalowa Wola, established the Klub Sportowy Stalowa Wola (''Sports Club Stalowa Wola''). At that time, the club had a pitch without running tracks and stands. The players were amateurs. During this period, training sessions took place after finishing work, and the matches were played on Sunday. Stalowa Wola () is the largest city and capital of Stalowa Wola County with a population of 58,545 inhabitants, as of 31 December 2021. Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW SA) is a defense contractor that operates a steel mill in the city of Stalowa Wola, Poland. It is a major producer of military equipment and one of the largest heavy construction machinery producers in East-Central Europe. In 1981 HSW and International Harvester constructed the TD-40 earth mover, the world's largest at that time. It had plough capacity 19 m3 and the engine had 460hp. Production began in 1983. Stal Stalowa Wola is a Polish basketball team competing in the third basketball league, based in Stalowa Wola. The team have played in the Polish Basketball League. History Stal Stalowa Wola played in the Polish Basketball League in the 1987/1988 season, from the 1989/1990 season to the 1997/1998 season, and in the 2009/2010 season. The greatest successes of basketball players are twice the fifth place in the 1990/1991 and 1994/1995 seasons.
