Stal Stalowa Wola is a Polish basketball team competing in the third basketball league, based in Stalowa Wola. The team have played in the Polish Basketball League. History Stal Stalowa Wola played in the Polish Basketball League in the 1987/1988 season, from the 1989/1990 season to the 1997/1998 season, and in the 2009/2010 season. The greatest successes of basketball players are twice the fifth place in the 1990/1991 and 1994/1995 seasons. In 2010, the club withdrew from the Polish Basketball League due to the lack of funds (in order to start in PBL, the club had to have a budget of PLN 2 million, which was lacking in Stal). Stadion MOSiR (Stalowa Wola)
Stadion Miejskiego Ośrodka Sportu i Rekreacji w Stalowej Woli, commonly referred to as Stadion MOSiR, is a sports stadium and former football stadium in Stalowa Wola, Poland. It was the home for Stal Stalowa Wola until the club moved to the Podkarpackie Centrum Piłki Nożnej in 2020. Currently, the Stalowa Wola's supervises, among others, the athletics stadium located in the vicinity of the San River and sports halls near Hutnicza Street. History The stadium was one of the first buildings in Stalowa Wola built in the late 1930s, with a maximum capacity of 12,000. The stadium was renovated in 1968 and 2006. In 1994 it hosted Legia Warsaw, in the Stal Stalowa Wola's 1–0 Ekstraklasa victory in front of the record 12,000 attendance. Stalowa Wola () is the largest city and capital of Stalowa Wola County with a population of 58,545 inhabitants, as of 31 December 2021. It is located in southeastern Poland in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. The city lies in historic Lesser Poland, near the confluence of the Vistula and the San Rivers and covers an area of . Polska Liga Koszykówki (PLK) (English language, English: Polish Basketball League) is a professional men's club basketball list of basketball leagues, league in Poland. It constitutes the first and highest-tier level of the Polish basketball league system, Polish league pyramid. The winning team of the final round are crowned the Polish Champions of that season. It began in 1947–48, with the name of I Liga, and was originally organized by the Polish Basketball Federation. Stal Stalowa Wola Piłkarska Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Stal Stalowa Wola (), is a Polish professional football club based in Stalowa Wola, Subcarpathian Voivodeship. Founded in 1938, the club competes in the III liga, group IV, the fourth division of Polish football. Stal's greatest success are 12th place in the 1993–94 Ekstraklasa, 1990–91 I liga championship and the quarter-final of the 1991–92 Polish Cup. It is the fourth best team in the history of the I liga, second professional association football division.
