''Stahlmania'' is the fifth studio album by Austrian heavy metal band Stahlhammer, released on 20 September 2004. The album was signed to record label Goodsongs and was distributed by Sony Germany. Stahlhammer
Stahlhammer (German for "Steel Hammer") is a Neue Deutsche Härte band from Austria that formed in 1992. They incorporate elements from hardcore, groove metal, industrial metal and symphonic metal into their songs. The band has to this date released six albums, where the majority of songs are in German. Their latest album is '' Opera Noir'', which was released in March 2006. History Stahlhammer is one of the most popular bands to ever come out of Austria. The band name was originally going to be "Eisenherz", but copyright laws for the German "Prince Valiant" stories prohibited this, though this later became the name of their fourth album. Their first album '' Killer Instinkt'', released in 1995, became widely known throughout Austria and Germany due to the success of their video for the Pink Floyd cover "Another Brick in the Wall". Neue Deutsche Härte
Neue Deutsche Härte (; "new German hardness"), sometimes abbreviated as NDH, is a subgenre of rock music that developed in Germany and Austria during the early-to-mid 1990s and during the early 2000s. Alluding to the style of Neue Deutsche Welle, the term was coined by the music press after the 1995 release of the German rock and metal band Rammstein's first studio album ''Herzeleid''. Characteristics Neue Deutsche Härte describes a crossover style that is influenced by Neue Deutsche Welle, alternative metal and groove metal combining it with elements from electro-industrial and techno. The lyrics are generally in German. NDH uses the basic setup of instruments for metal: electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals, along with keyboard, synthesizers, samples and sometimes additional percussion. Johann "Hans" Hölzel (; 19 February 1957 – 6 February 1998), better known by his stage name Falco, was an Austrian singer and musician. Falco had several international hits including " Der Kommissar" (1981), "Rock Me Amadeus", "Vienna Calling", " Jeanny", " The Sound of Musik", " Coming Home (Jeanny Part II, One Year Later)", and posthumously " Out of the Dark". ''Out of the Dark (Into the Light)'' is the eighth album by Austrian singer Falco, released in 1998. It was released less than a month after Falco's death on 6 February 1998. Background information In 1995, the techno-styled song " Mutter, der Mann mit dem Koks ist da" ("Mother, the man with the coke (cocaine/charcoal) is here") by T>>MA ("T>>MA" as Falco's pseudonym) hit the market and brought the artist back into the charts of all German-speaking countries. In the song Falco plays with the ambiguity of the German word "Koks" which means both cocaine and charcoal. Although Falco's band leader found " Out of the Dark" good enough to be released as the second single, Falco himself wanted it to be released on the album only. The follow up single became "Naked" which was quite successful in Austria but did not meet Falco's expectations in Germany, leading him to postpone the album release. Udo Jürgens
Udo Jürgens (born Jürgen Udo Bockelmann; 30 September 1934 – 21 December 2014) was an Austrian composer and singer of popular music whose career spanned over 50 years. He won the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 for Austria, composed close to 1,000 songs, and sold over 100 million records. In 2007, he additionally obtained Swiss citizenship. He is credited with broadening German-language pop music beyond the traditional post-war " Schlager" (hit song) in the 1950s by infusing it with a modern pop appeal and French chanson style. "Merci, Chérie" (; "Thank you, darling") was the winning song in the Eurovision Song Contest 1966, performed for by Udo Jürgens with lyrics in German and partially in French.
