Staff Colleges
Staff colleges (also command and staff colleges and War colleges) train military officers in the administrative, military staff and policy aspects of their profession. It is usual for such training to occur at several levels in a career. For example, an officer may be sent to various staff courses: as a captain they may be sent to a single service command and staff school to prepare for company command and equivalent staff posts; as a major to a single or joint service college to prepare for battalion command and equivalent staff posts; and as a colonel or brigadier to a higher staff college to prepare for brigade and division command and equivalent postings. The success of staff colleges spawned, in the mid-twentieth century, a civilian imitation in what are called administrative staff colleges. Jinja is a city in the Eastern Region of Uganda, located on the North shores of Lake Victoria. Location Jinja is in Jinja District, Busoga sub-region, in the Eastern Region of Uganda. The Uganda Junior Staff College, is a staff college in Uganda. Typically, graduates are commanders in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). Other African countries also send their cadets to the college for training. Past graduates of the college have come from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, and other African nations. The Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji is a training facility for the Nigerian Armed Forces, including the army, air force and navy. It is near the village of Jaji, Nigeria, about northeast of Kaduna in the Igabi Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State, Nigeria. It is currently headed by Air Vice Marshal OA TUWASE. History The Armed Forces Command and Staff College opened at Jaji in May 1976, giving two senior officers' courses. Okahandja
Okahandja is a city of 24,100 inhabitants in Otjozondjupa Region, central Namibia, and the district capital of the Okahandja electoral constituency. It is known as the ''Garden Town of Namibia''. It is located 70 km north of Windhoek on the B1 road. It was founded around 1800, by two local groups, the Herero and the Nama. Namibia Command And Staff College
The Namibia Command and Staff College is an academic tri service college of the Namibian Defence Force. The college offers officers staff training and education. History Recognizing the need for advanced academic training for its officers as it depended on friendly nations such as Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana, the Ministry of Defence established the College and was launched by the minister of Defence Charles Namoloh on 10 August 2009.
