Stadion Eden (1953)
Stadion Eden, officially named Stadion Dr. Václava Vacka, was a multi-use stadium in Prague, Czech Republic. It was initially used as the stadium of Slavia Prague matches. It was replaced by the current Eden Arena in 2008. The original capacity of the stadium was 38,000 spectators, mostly standing terraces. History In the early 1950s, Slavia was forced to leave its stadium at Letná and a new stadium was built at Eden in the Vršovice district. Its capacity was about 38,000 (mostly for standing) and the stadium also featured an athletics track. The wooden western (main) stand was taken from the old stadium at Letná, the rest of the stands were made of concrete. Ďolíček
Ďolíček Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Prague district Vršovice, Czech Republic. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Bohemians Praha 1905 and FK Pardubice. The stadium was opened on 27 March 1932 for a match against SK Slavia Prague. The reconstruction of 2003 changed the capacity to 13,388 (3,028 seated). After reconstruction in summer 2007, its capacity was reduced to 9,000 (3,800 seated). Bohemians 1905 were not allowed to keep the stand sector, they changed it into seats, which reduced the capacity further, to 7,500 (all seated). In the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons, Bohemians played its home matches at Synot Tip Arena, and Ďolíček was only used for the Bohemians 1905 "B" team. In 2011, councillors of the city district of Prague 10 approved a proposal to purchase the stadium. Stadion Evžena Rošického
Stadion Evžena Rošického, also known simply as Strahov, is a multi-purpose stadium in Strahov, Prague in the Czech Republic. It hosted the 1978 European Athletics Championships and for many years this was the venue for main annual international track and field meet of Prague ( Evžen Rošický Memorial and later Josef Odložil Memorial) until Stadion Juliska took the role in 2002. Nowadays the stadium is used only for minor domestic athletic competitions and mostly for football matches, although no team plays at the stadium regularly. It served as the home ground for SK Slavia Prague from August 2000 until May 2008 when their new stadium, the Synot Tip Arena, was opened. Bohemians 1905
Bohemians Praha 1905 (previously named FC Bohemians Praha) is a Prague-based football club, which was founded in 1905 as AFK Vršovice. The club won the 1982–83 Czechoslovak First League, its only league championship. Its colours are green and white. The best known player from Bohemians' history is Antonín Panenka, who is now the club chairman. Bohemians' mascot is a kangaroo, the legacy of a 1927 tour of Australia. Following the tour, the club was awarded two live kangaroos, which they donated to the Prague Zoo. Josef "Pepi" Bican (25 September 1913 – 12 December 2001) was an Austrian-Czech professional footballer who played as a striker. He is the second-most prolific goalscorer in official matches in recorded history according to Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF), with over 950 goals scored in 624 matches. According to RSSSF, Bican scored over 1813 total goals in over 1089 total matches. In total Bican scored 1137 unofficial goals in more than 514 games for Slavia Praha, with a ratio of 1.79 goals per game across his almost 15-year career at the club in total. Bican began his professional career at Rapid Vienna in 1931. After four years at Rapid, he moved to local rivals Admira Vienna. Letná
Letná is a hill overlooking Prague historic centre and Vltava River just besides Prague Castle. It neighbours Stromovka, the largest park in Prague. The hill belongs to Holešovice and Bubeneč quarters of Prague 7. The main part of Letná is Letná Plain ''()'', a large empty plain and Letná Park ''()'' popular for summer strolls and informal sports (inline skating and jogging being the most popular here). Several rock concerts took place here, Michael Jackson (1996), Rolling Stones (2003) both with an over 120,000 audience. Due to its position it used to be the venue for the largest Stalin statue in Europe. The statue was torn down in the 1960s and the Prague Metronome now occupies the site.
