Stadio Teofilo Patini is a stadium located in Castel di Sangro, Italy. It is owned by Municipality of Castel di Sangro (Comune di Castel di Sangro), and its primary use is for home games of the A.S.D. Castel di Sangro Calcio. It is also used for pop concerts and other sporting events. History The stadium was built for the miracle of the local team, Castel di Sangro Calcio, who were promoted to the Italian ''Serie B'', the second league in Italy. The stadium was named in honor of '' Teofilo Patini'', a nineteenth century painter from Castel di Sangro. Until 1996, the stadium comprised only a small sports ground with central stand. Over a period of four months, the current stadium was constructed with four stands and 7,220 seats. In December, 1996 the stadium was inaugurated. Castel di Sangro (locally ''Caštiéllë'') is a city and ''comune'' of 6,461 people (as of 2013) in the Province of L'Aquila, in Abruzzo, Central Italy. Teofilo Patini
Teofilo Patini (Castel di Sangro, Abruzzo May 5, 1840 – Naples, November 16, 1906) was an Italian painter, active in a Realism (arts), Realist style. Biography He was born to a landowning family of some wealth. In 1855, he began classical studies in Sulmona under the Latin scholar, Leopoldo Dorrucci. Patini's father had taken a position as chancellor of the Royal Judiciary in that town. He acquired a diploma of “Belle Lettere”, and then enrolled in the University of Naples to study philosophy, then transferred to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. This move, however, was not approved by his family. At the age of 20 years, Teofilo, along with Antonio Tripoti, enlisted in the volunteer forces of Garibaldi: the ''Cacciatori delle Alpi, Cacciatori del Gran Sasso'', which was organizing an insurrection in Abruzzo. Marco Tardelli
Marco Tardelli (; born 24 September 1954) is an Italian former football player and manager. At club level, he played as a midfielder for several Italian clubs; he began his career with Pisa, and later played for Como, Juventus, and Internazionale, before retiring with Swiss club St. Gallen. He enjoyed a highly successful career with Juventus, winning five league titles, as well as multiple Coppa Italia titles, and four major UEFA competitions (European Cup, Cup Winner's Cup, UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup), becoming one of the first three players ever to win all three major UEFA club competitions, along with Italy and Juventus teammates Antonio Cabrini and Gaetano Scirea. The Italy national under-21 football team is the national under-21 football team of Italy and is controlled by the Italian Football Federation. The team competes in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, held every two years. Pierluigi Casiraghi (; born 4 March 1969) is an Italian professional football coach and former player who played as a striker. Casiraghi began his playing career in Italy in 1985, with Monza.
