Stadio Della Roma
Stadio della Roma was the temporary name for Serie A team A.S. Roma's planned stadium in the Tor di Valle neighborhood of Rome. But as of February 2021, the project was halted after being planned to open in the 2020–21 season. The planned location was along the Roma Tiburtina station and accessible via the main highway A24-A25 connecting the city with Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, by Suburban railways and the line B' s Quintiliani station. Seating capacity was planned for 52,500 spectators. The stadium was designed by American architect Dan Meis in collaboration with the multidisciplinary engineering firm SCE Project and Arup (MEP engineering) and it was said to be inspired by the ancient Colosseum. Stadio Olimpico
The Stadio Olimpico (English: ''Olympic Stadium'') is the largest sports facility in Rome, Italy, seating over 70,000 spectators. It is located within the Foro Italico sports complex, north of the city. The structure is owned by the Italian National Olympic Committee and it is used primarily for association football. The Stadio Olimpico is the home stadium of the Roma and Lazio football clubs, and also hosts the Coppa Italia final. It was rebuilt for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and it hosted the tournament final. The Roma–Lido railway is an urban railway line connecting the Porta San Paolo Station in Rome to Lido di Ostia, Rome's seaside neighborhood. The railway is long, stops at 13 stations and carries on average over 90,000 passengers per day. Ultras are a type of association football fans who are renowned for their fanatical support. The term originated in Italy, but is used worldwide to describe predominantly organised fans of association football teams. The behavioural tendency of ultras groups includes their use of flares (primarily in tifo choreography), vocal support in large groups and the displaying of banners at football stadiums, all of which are designed to create an atmosphere which encourages their own team and intimidates the opposing players and their supporters. Dan Meis, FAIA, RIBA (born 1961) is an American architect best known for designing sports and entertainment facilities including Staples Center, Safeco Field, Paul Brown Stadium Stadio Della Roma, and Everton FC's new Everton Stadium. He began his career in Chicago under the mentorship of well-known architect Helmut Jahn, and later included time at sports architecture firms, including co-founding the sports and entertainment practice of NBBJ.
