Stade Linité
The Stad Linité (official name) is a multi-use stadium in Victoria, Seychelles. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 10,000 and was built in 1992. The stadium plays host also to most of the home games of the Seychelles national football team. The stadium received in February 2007 an artificial turf pitch 3rd generation, One Star field test, by FIFA's development programme "win in Africa with Africa". Seychelles National Football Team
The Seychelles national football team, nicknamed ''The Pirates'', represents Seychelles in international football and is controlled by the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF). SFF has been a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) since 1986, and a member of FIFA since 1986. The team's home stadium is the 10,000 capacity Stade Linité situated at Roche Caiman in the outskirts of Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. The Ethiopia national football team, nicknamed ''ዋሊያ'', after the Walia, represents Ethiopia in men's international football and is controlled by the Ethiopian Football Federation, the governing body for football in Ethiopia. Mahé is the largest island of Seychelles, with an area of , lying in the northeast of the Seychellean nation in the Somali Sea part of the Indian Ocean. The population of Mahé was 77,000, as of the 2010 census. It contains the capital city of Victoria and accommodates 86% of the country's total population. Artificial Turf
Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass. It is most often used in arenas for sports that were originally or are normally played on grass. However, it is now being used on residential lawns and commercial applications as well. The main reason is maintenanceartificial turf stands up to heavy use, such as in sports, and requires no irrigation or trimming. Domed, covered, and partially covered stadiums may require artificial turf because of the difficulty of getting grass enough sunlight to stay healthy. Artificial turf does have its downside, however: limited life, periodic cleaning requirements, petroleum use, toxic chemicals from infill, and heightened health and safety concerns. Saint-Louis Suns United, is a football club based in Victoria, Seychelles. The club was formed as the result of a 2007 merger between Saint-Louis (founded in 1985) and Sunshine (1993). History Saint Louis Suns United was founded on 2007 after merger with Saint-Louis FC (established on the 1970s) and Sunshine SC (established on 1993). Saint Louis won 13 Division One League titles between 1979 and 1994, and made several appearances in continental competitions. Sunshine won its first in 1995, after only two years in existence.
