Stacie Orrico (album)
''Stacie Orrico'' is the second studio album by American singer Stacie Orrico. It was released by ForeFront Records and Virgin Records on March 25, 2003, in the United States. Initially conceived as a Contemporary Christian music album, much in style of Orrico's debut album '' Genuine'' (2000), it was actually titled ''Say It Again'' and expected to be released in 2002, featuring production by Anthony Dent and Tedd T, among others. Additional recording sessions with mainstream producers Dallas Austin and The Underdogs led to a different musical direction however and resulted in the renaming of the project. Stylistically, the album mixes the singer's native Christian music with more pop and R&B styles, but also features incorporation of teen pop and dance music. ''Stacie Orrico'' received generally favorable reviews from music critics, many calling Orrico the new "diva" of music, and praised the songs, but some said that it really was mixed with different genres. Stacie Joy Orrico (born March 3, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter and occasional actress. After signing to ForeFront Records, Orrico recorded her first album, '' Genuine'' (2000), which sold 13,000 units in its first week of release. After her first album, she signed to a new record label, Virgin Records, and started to record her self-titled album '' Stacie Orrico'' (2003), which was released by both ForeFront and Virgin. The album, which debuted at No. 59 on the ''Billboard'' 200, was certified gold with over 500,000 sales in the US. The first single " Stuck" reached No. 52 on ''Billboard'' Hot 100, but achieved greater success worldwide. Her second single " (There's Gotta Be) More to Life" peaked at No. 30 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Her self-titled album has achieved sales worldwide of over 3.5 million. Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. Cross Rhythms is a Christian media organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is a trade organization that represents the music recording industry in the United States. Its members consist of record labels and distributors that the RIAA says "create, manufacture, and/or distribute approximately 85% of all legally sold recorded music in the United States".
