Sreekumaran Thampi
Sreekumaran Thampi (born 16 March 1940) is an Indian lyricist, music director, director, producer, and screenwriter in Malayalam cinema. He also writes poetry and is a recipient of the Vallathol Award. In 2017, he was awarded the J. C. Daniel Award, Kerala government's highest honour for contributions to Malayalam cinema. Film career Thampi was introduced to the Malayalam film industry in 1966 by P. Subramaniam as a lyricist in the film '' Kaattumallika''. He has produced 25 films, directed 29, and written scripts for 85 films in Malayalam besides writing thousands of songs. He is also the author of the well-known literary work ''Prem Nazir Enna Prema Gaanam''. He won the National Award for Best Book on Cinema film (Kanakkum Kavitayum) whilst his films ''Gaanam'' and ''Mohiniyattam'' won Kerala State Awards. Priyadarshan
Priyadarshan (born 30 January 1957) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and producer who works predominantly in Malayalam and Hindi films, while also having done six films in Tamil and two films in Telugu. He has done about 31 films in Hindi alone, the highest number of films done by any Hindi film director after David Dhawan. He was one of the first directors in India to introduce rich color grading, clear sound and quality dubbing through his early Malayalam films. Priyadarshan has also directed many advertisement films. Priyadarshan began his career in Malayalam cinema in the early 1980s and was active throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Naayattu
''Naayattu'' () is a 1980 Indian Malayalam-language action film written and directed by Sreekumaran Thampi and produced by Hemnag Productions. It is a remake of the 1973 Hindi film '' Zanjeer''. The film stars Jayan in the lead role with Prem Nazir, Sukumari and Adoor Bhasi in supporting roles. The music was composed by Shyam, while cinematography was handled by C. Ramachandra Menon. The film revolves around a tough and honest police officer who clashes with a crime boss who, unbeknownst to him, happens to be his parents' murderer. This was Jayan's 100th film. This film was a major commercial success and was one of the highest grossing films of 1980. The film completed a 50 day run.
