Naayattu
''Naayattu'' () is a 1980 Indian Malayalam-language action film written and directed by Sreekumaran Thampi and produced by Hemnag Productions. It is a remake of the 1973 Hindi film '' Zanjeer''. The film stars Jayan in the lead role with Prem Nazir, Sukumari and Adoor Bhasi in supporting roles. The music was composed by Shyam, while cinematography was handled by C. Ramachandra Menon. The film revolves around a tough and honest police officer who clashes with a crime boss who, unbeknownst to him, happens to be his parents' murderer. This was Jayan's 100th film. This film was a major commercial success and was one of the highest grossing films of 1980. The film completed a 50 day run. Sreekumaran Thampi
Sreekumaran Thampi (born 16 March 1940) is an Indian lyricist, music director, director, producer, and screenwriter in Malayalam cinema. He also writes poetry and is a recipient of the Vallathol Award. In 2017, he was awarded the J. C. Daniel Award, Kerala government's highest honour for contributions to Malayalam cinema. Film career Thampi was introduced to the Malayalam film industry in 1966 by P. Subramaniam as a lyricist in the film '' Kaattumallika''. K. Bhaskaran Nair (1 March 1929 – 29 March 1990), known by his stage name Adoor Bhasi, was an Indian actor and film director from Kerala. Adoor Bhasi was almost always cast as the man who stands next to the hero.
