Monaro, also known as Maneroo (1856–1858), Monara (1858–1879) and Manaro (1894–1904) is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. Rock Flat, New South Wales
Rock Flat is a rural locality in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council local government area of New South Wales, Australia. It is located south of Cooma, on either side of the Monaro Highway. The area now known as Rock Flat lies on the traditional lands of the Ngarigo people. Near the Monaro Highway crossing of Rock Flat Creek, there is a mineral spring that comes to the surface, on the bank of the creek. The spring water issues from near the base of a small rocky mount composed of highly inclined beds of quartzite and the surface of the flat in the vicinity of the spring is tufaceous limestone that has been deposited there by the spring water. The flow rate of the spring is about 245-litres per hour. The spring water has a pleasant taste and is carbonated. The water contains carbonates of calcium, sodium, and magnesium. Maclaughlin River
The Maclaughlin River, a perennial river of the Snowy River catchment, is located in the Monaro region of New South Wales, Australia. Course and features The Maclaughlin River rises on the southern slopes of the Great Dividing Range approximately south southeast of Nimmitabel. The river flows generally west and then southwest, joined by two minor tributaries, before reaching its confluence with the Snowy River approximately south by west of Mount Rix. The river descends over its course, flowing through Merriangaah Nature Reserve. In its upper reaches, the Maclaughlin River is crossed by the Monaro Highway near Nimmitabel.
