Marianna Spring (born 21 February 1996) is a British broadcast journalist. Spring is the BBC's first specialist disinformation and social media correspondent. Biography Spring was born on 21 February 1996. She has a sister. Spring reports an early interest in journalism from the age of eight which included watching BBC World News on holiday. She attended Sutton High School, an independent school in London, and while there she was involved in a programme run by Newsquest for young journalists, and won an award for the best news article of 2011 by a Year Eleven student. Walthère Victor Spring
Walthère Victor Spring (6 March 1848 – 17 July 1911) was a Belgian experimental chemist and a professor at the University of Liège who contributed to ideas on carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the Greenhouse Effect. As a physical chemist he demonstrated the formation of certain compounds such as metal sulphides under high pressure conditions. He also took an interest in the study of the Tyndall effect and examined the cause of the colour of the sky and water. Spring was born in Liège to physician and professor of medicine, Antoine Spring (1814–1872) who was of Bavarian ancestry. He experimented in physics and chemistry but studied classical languages and humanities at the Athenaeum. He failed the examination to enter university but took an interest in practical work. Tom Spring (born Thomas Winter) (22 February 1795 – 20 August 1851) was an English bare-knuckle fighter. He was heavyweight champion of England from 1821 until his retirement in 1824. After his retirement he became landlord of the Castle Inn at Holborn in London, where he arranged the patronage and contracts of many of the major boxing events of the period while overseeing fair play in the ring. Early years Spring was born at Witchend in Fownhope, Herefordshire on 22 February 1795. His true surname was "Winter", which he changed to Spring when he became a professional boxer. His first career was as a butcher, the trade in which he was employed when he had his first known fight in 1812, against John Hollands. Rev. Samuel Spring (1746–1819) was an early American Revolutionary War chaplain and Congregationalist minister. Early life and education Spring was born in Uxbridge in the Massachusetts Colony on February 27, 1746. His father was John Spring (1706–1794), a militia man and local wealthy farmer, and his mother was Sarah Read (1716–1800). He was a great-great grandson of John Spring, a Founder and early settler of Watertown, Massachusetts, who travelled to America under the patronage of his cousin Sir William Spring, 1st Baronet, and was the great-grandson of John Spring of Lavenham and the great-great grandson of Thomas Spring of Lavenham. John later commanded the company of militia from Uxbridge in the American Revolution. Rudi Spring (born 17 March 1962) is a German composer of classical music, pianist and academic. He is known for vocal compositions on texts by poets and his own, and for chamber music such as his three Chamber Symphonies. Career Born in Lindau, Rudi Spring received piano instructions from Alfred Kuppelmayer (1918–1977), starting in 1971. He studied chamber music in 1978 in Bregenz with Heinrich Schiff, with whom he also played in concert. Richard John Grenville Spring, Baron Risby (born 24 September 1946) is a former Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom. He served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Bury St Edmunds from 1992 to 1997, and for West Suffolk from 1997 to 2010. Antoine Frédéric Spring (8 April 1814 in Gerolsbach, Bavaria – 17 January 1872) was a German-born, Belgian physician and botanist. He studied botany and medicine at the University of Munich, obtaining his PhD in 1835 and his medical doctorate during the following year.
