Sportsworld (Australian TV Series)
''Sportsworld'' was an Australian sports information program shown on Seven Network. The program was broadcast from 9.00am–11.00am following ''Weekend Sunrise'' on Sunday mornings, from Seven's Martin Place streetfront studios in Sydney. Prior to its final format, ''Sportsworld'' had usually been shown on Sunday mornings since its debut in the 1990s. Its host then was Bruce McAvaney. It was then revamped to a sport panel show in which Johanna Griggs hosted alongside Paul Salmon out of Seven Melbourne. In 2004, it was revamped into a chat style show with Johanna Griggs and Sandy Roberts. Matthew White replaced Roberts in late 2004. The program's final season was 2006; it was not renewed due to budget concerns and time constraints due to AFL and V8 Supercars, two sports which the Seven Network were to regain the broadcasting rights to in 2007. Sandy Roberts
Sandy Roberts (born 22 February 1950) is a veteran sports presenter and commentator formerly working on television for Fox Sports Australia and radio with Crocmedia. He was a long-time personality of the Seven Network for four decades, notably part of the Seven Sport Olympics coverage as a host for more than 20 years. Career Roberts' career started at Perth radio station 6PM, after a short stint as a copyboy for the Adelaide ''News''. Roberts then travelled extensively throughout Europe for two years, before returning to Australia, where he joined Radio 3CS Colac as an announcer. In 1971, he switched to television station BCV8-TV in Bendigo as a news presenter. He later joined the Seven Network in Adelaide in 1973 as a general announcer and presenter. Seven Sport
Seven Sport is the brand and production department under which all sporting events on the Seven Network are broadcast. It broadcasts some of Australia's most prominent sporting events, such as the AFL, cricket, the Olympics and Paralympics, as well as horse racing and motor racing. In late September 2019, it was announced that Head of Sport Saul Shtein (who had been in the position since 2004) would be leaving the company after the AFL Grand Final, reportedly as a result of widespread company cost cutting and restructuring. Cameron Williams
Cameron Williams (born 18 February 1963 in Emerald, Queensland ) is an Australian television journalist and presenter, most notably with the Nine Network. Williams has previously been a sport presenter on ''Nine News Sydney'' from Sunday to Thursday, co-hosted ''Weekend Today'' and been sports presenter on ''Today''. Dixie Marshall
Dixie Marshall (born March 1963) is a Western Australian former television news presenter and, from 2011 to 2017, was the media relations director, and then director of communications, strategic communications director, for Colin Barnett, the Premier of Western Australia. Career Marshall joined the Nine Network in Perth in 1984 as a cadet reporter. She became one of Australia's first female football commentators when she joined the Seven Network in Melbourne in the late 1980s. Rex James Hunt (born 7 March 1949) is an Australian television and radio personality, and a former Australian rules football player. He was also a veteran Australian rules football commentator known for his habit of making up quirky nicknames for players. He has also been known around the world for fishing and wildlife programs on the Seven Network and overseas stations. Kylie Gillies (born 4 May 1967) is Australian television presenter for the Seven Network, based in Sydney, Australia. Gillies is the co-host of '' The Morning Show'' with Larry Emdur. Rex Peers "Moose" Mossop (18 February 1928 – 17 June 2011) was an Australian rugby union and rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s – a dual-code international, and an Australian television personality from 1964 until 1991.
