Sporting Clube de Macau () is a Macanese professional football club that competes in the Liga de Elite. It was founded in 1926 as the former branch of Sporting Clube de Portugal. History Beginnings The Macau Sporting Club was founded on 22 September 1926 as the No.25 branch of Sporting Clube de Portugal. It began under the direction of Henrique Nolasco da Silva (President), Francisco Borralho (secretary), Angelo Rosary (treasurer), and alternates Dr. Horacio Carvalho, Pedro Pereira Leite, and Mário Ribeiro. Among its past Presidents, there were athletes such as António Conceição, the first Macanese athlete to become Portuguese National Champion of 5x80 meters velocity relay races in 1928 and 1930. He would return to Macau in the late 1930s and would be Macau team coach and in 1951 become President of the club. In this position, he would send Augusto Rocha and Joaquim Pacheco to his beloved Sporting, where they would be selected for the Portugal national football team. ...

Canidrome (Macau)
The Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome Club (), located in Nossa Senhora de Fátima, Macau, China, was a greyhound racing stadium in Asia. Around 120 dogs took part in 16 races five days per week. It had two grandstands, several private boxes and a VIP lounge. It shared the venue with Lin Fong Sports Centre, a sport complex. History The Canidrome opened in 1932 but was closed in 1938 due to the Second Sino-Japanese War. It reopened in 1963. On 21 July 2016, the Gaming and Inspection Bureau (DICJ) of Macau, Paulo Martins Chan, met with representatives of the Canidrome. It was later announced that the government presented the greyhound racing facility with an ultimatum: close down or move to another site in two years. The Canidrome closed on 21 July 2018. Armando Queirós Manuel ( zh, 亞文度l; born 10 November 1966) is a former footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in Angola, he was a Macau international. 2020 Liga De Elite
The 2020 Liga de Elite is the 48 season of the Liga de Elite, the top Macanese league for association football clubs since its establishment in 1973. The season began on 18 September 2020. Effects of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Macau, the season's start was delayed until September. On 3 September 2020, the Macau Football Association announced that the 2020 season would begin on 18 September 2020. Teams will play a single round robin format and players are required to undergo nucleic acid testing prior to every match. If the season is delayed at any point due to an outbreak, the clubs have agreed to cancel the season so that the 2021 season can begin on time. There will be no promotion or relegation for the season. Agostinho Manuel Almeida Caetano (born 9 December 1966) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a forward. Club career Caetano was born in Penafiel, Porto District. Over nine seasons, he amassed Primeira Liga totals of 226 games and 21 goals, mainly with F.C. Tirsense (four years). Liga de Elite (), previously known as Campeonato da 1ª Divisão do Futebol, is the top division of the Macau Football Association, created in 1973. The league is featuring local players and professional foreign players. Due to the lack of football fields in Macau, most matches are played at the Estádio Campo Desportivo. As with Hong Kong, the league is separate from the mainland Chinese football league system. The league is generally played between January and July of each calendar year. History In the inaugural 2014 edition, Lam Pak, Lam Ieng and Kuan Tai all forfeited from the First Division before the start of the competition.
