Sporting CP (volleyball)
Sporting Clube de Portugal is a professional volleyball team based in Lisbon, Portugal. It's the volleyball section of Sporting CP. History Volleyball was introduced in Sporting Clube de Portugal in the thirties by influence of Salazar Carreira, constituting itself the club as one of the founders of the Association of Volleyball of Lisbon, 28 of December 1938. The club would only reach its first titles in the fifties thanks to the dynamism of Professor Moniz Pereira, who was a manager, coach and player of the team that, in the 1953/54 season, broke the hegemony of the Instituto Superior Técnico that until then had conquered all National Championships, which were disputed since 1947. In addition to Moniz Pereira, the Yugoslavs Jost and Budisin, Xara Brazil, Marques Pereira, Fernando Fezas Vital, Machado da Costa, Anibal Rebelo and Plácido Martins. Pavilhão João Rocha
Pavilhão João Rocha is a multi-sports pavilion located in Lisbon, next to the Estádio José Alvalade and it is the home of Sporting CP sports. The pavilion is named after João Rocha, a former club president who remained in office from September 1973 to October 1986. The inauguration took place on the day June 21, 2017. History Precedents In 1975, João Rocha, president of the club at the time, advanced with the project to create a sports complex near the Estádio José Alvalade (1956). On October 14, 1976, the Pavilion of Alvalade was born. This was, in fact, a sports complex, with 4 thousand square meters and three enclosures: the main pavilion, with capacity for 5000 spectators, and two smaller pavilions used for training. However, the work saw its life shortened dramatically due to the growth of the city of Lisbon and its transport network. Bruno Eduardo Regufe Alves (; born 27 November 1981) is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a central defender, currently being sporting director of Super League Greece club AEK Athens. He began and spent most of his professional career at Porto, where he won a total of nine titles and appeared in 171 official games.
