SpongeBob Comics
''SpongeBob Comics'' was a comic book series based on the animated TV show ''SpongeBob SquarePants'', published by United Plankton Pictures and distributed by Bongo Comics. It was initially published every two months in the United States beginning in February 2011 and was published monthly from June 2012 to October 2018. History Originally, Stephen Hillenburg authored an educational comic book in 1989, called ''The Intertidal Zone'', while he worked as a teacher of marine science at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, California. This comic book depicted ocean life through anthropomorphic sea creatures, as the character of Bob the Sponge, a natural sponge with sunglasses who would become the first prototype of SpongeBob SquarePants. Sherm Cohen
Paul Sherman "Sherm" Cohen(Interview with Sherm Cohen 2006) (born January 19, 1965) is an American storyboard artist, director, and writer. During college, Cohen worked as a cartoonist for his local newspaper. He got his start in animation at Nickelodeon on ''The Ren and Stimpy Show'' as character layout artist, followed by a three-year stint on ''Hey Arnold!'' as storyboard artist and director. Career Cohen was a writer, artist, and letterer for ''Nickelodeon Magazine'' from 1996 until the magazine ceased operations in 2009. Matthew Abram Groening ( ; born February 15, 1954) is an American cartoonist, writer, producer, and animator. Ramona Fradon (born October 2, 1926) is an American comics artist known for her work illustrating Aquaman and Brenda Starr, and co-creating the superhero Metamorpho. Her career began in 1950. Early life Ramona Fradon was born in Chicago and moved to New York when she was five. She grew up on the outskirts of New York City in Westchester County. Her father, Peter Dom, was a well known commercial lettering man and designed logos for Elizabeth Arden, Camel, and Lord & Taylor. Fradon also had an older brother and uncle in the lettering business. Her brother worked as a technician for the Air Corps overseas and eventually died of alcoholism.
