Splice (film)
''Splice'' is a 2009 science fiction film, science fiction horror film directed by Vincenzo Natali and starring Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley, and Delphine Chanéac. The story concerns experiments in genetic engineering being done by a young scientific couple, who attempt to introduce human DNA into their work of RNA splicing, splicing animal genes. Guillermo del Toro, Don Murphy, and Joel Silver are the executive producers of this film. Theatrically released on June 4, 2010, the film received generally positive reviews from critics but grossed just $27 million against a $30 million production budget. Vincenzo Natali
Vincenzo Natali (born 1969) is an American-born Canadian film director and screenwriter, known for writing and directing Science fiction film, science fiction and horror films such as ''Cube (1997 film), Cube'', ''Cypher (film), Cypher'', ''Nothing (film), Nothing'', and ''Splice (film), Splice''. Early life and education Natali was born in Detroit, to a nursery school teacher/painter mother and a photographer father. He is of Italian and English descent. He moved to Toronto, along with his family, at the age of one. During his time at Royal St. George's College, Natali befriended British-born Canadian actor David Hewlett, who has appeared in the majority of films that Natali has directed. David Hewlett
David Ian Hewlett (born 18 April 1968) is a British-born Canadian actor, writer, and director known for his role as Dr. Rodney McKay in the '' Stargate'' science-fiction franchise. He first gained fame for his roles as Grant Jansky in the Canadian TV series '' Traders'' (1996—2000) and as David Worth in the Canadian psychological horror film ''Cube'' (1997). Sequential hermaphroditism (called dichogamy in botany) is a type of hermaphroditism that occurs in many fish, gastropods, and plants. Sequential hermaphroditism occurs when the individual changes its sex at some point in its life. The nurturant parent model also "Nurturing Parent" is a metaphor, for a belief system, which is built upon an underlying value system. In this Nurturant Parenting contrasts with Stern Father parenting (Strict Father) as two distinct metaphors each used as icons of contrasting value and political systems, i.e. conservative (Strict Father) and liberal (Nurturing Parent). The Nurturant Parent metaphor draws on parenting style. The ideal, effective Nurturing Parent gives his children both "roots in the ground and wings to fly."
