Spinone Al Lago
Spinone al Lago ( Bergamasque: ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about northeast of Milan and about northeast of Bergamo, on the left bank of the Lake Endine. It is home to the 11th century Romanesque sanctuary of ''San Pietro in Vincoli'', restored during the 14th and 15th centuries. The bell tower dates to the 16th century. The interior has some remains of 15th-century frescoes. The Bergamasque dialect is the western variant of the Eastern Lombard group of the Lombard language. It is mainly spoken in the province of Bergamo and in the area around Crema, in central Lombardy. The Spinone Italiano is an Italian breed of hunting dog, traditionally used for tracking, for pointing and for retrieving game. History The origins of the Spinone are unknown. Rough-haired dogs of pointer type have been present in the Italian peninsula at least since the Renaissance. In a fresco painted by Andrea Mantegna in about 1470 in the Camera degli Sposi of the Ducal Palace of Mantua, in Lombardy, in northern Italy, a dog of this kind is shown lying under the chair of the duke, Ludovico III Gonzaga. Bianzano
Bianzano ( Bergamasque: ) is a ''comune'' in the province of Bergamo, in Lombardy, Italy. It is above sea level and lies on a little plateau between Cavallina and Seriana valleys. The village boasts a historic center, having kept its original structure with some remains of minor fortified buildings and the imposing medieval Suardi Castle overlooking the valley. Other two outstanding monuments are the shrine of Our Lady of the Assumption (1234) and the parish church dedicated to Saint Roch (1575). Suardi Castle The date of the castle construction remains unknown, although an inscription on the right side of the portal which leads to the inner courtyard bears the date 1233.
