Spartak Trnava
FC Spartak Trnava () is a Slovak professional football club based in Trnava. Historically, it is one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won the Czechoslovak First League five times and the Czechoslovak Cup on four occasions, and reaching the semi-final of the European Cup once and the quarter-final twice. More recently, the club won the Slovak league title in 2018, as well as Slovak cup in 2019 and 2022. History The club was founded on 30 May 1923 by the merger of Šk Čechie and ČšŠk into TSS Trnava. Anton Malatinský Stadium
Anton Malatinský Stadium ( sk, Štadión Antona Malatinského) is a football stadium located in Trnava, Slovakia, which is the home ground of the local football club Spartak Trnava. The stadium was completely renovated in 2013–2015 and has an all-seated capacity of 19,200 which makes it the second-largest football stadium in Slovakia. On 14 January 1998, the stadium was named in the honour of former footballer and manager Anton Malatinský, who died in 1992. 2013–2015 reconstruction Stadium underwent a complex reconstruction in 2013–2015. The project consisted not only of complete reconstruction of the stadium, but also building the adjacent shopping centre named City Arena. UEFA Euro 1976
The 1976 UEFA European Football Championship final tournament was held in Yugoslavia. This was the fifth UEFA European Championship, held every four years and endorsed by UEFA. The final tournament took place between 16 and 20 June 1976. Only four countries played in the final tournament, with the tournament consisting of the semi-finals, a third place play-off, and the final. This was the last tournament to have this format, as the tournament was expanded to include eight teams four years later. It was the only time that all four matches in the final tournament were decided after extra time, either on penalties or by goals scored. This was also the last tournament in which the hosts had to qualify for the final stage. Karol Dobiaš
Karol Dobiaš (born 18 December 1947) is a former Slovak football player and coach. During his career, he was a versatile player, mostly playing as defender or midfielder. Player career He was born in Handlová. His career started in Baník Handlová. In 1965 he moved to Spartak Trnava where he achieved the biggest success as a player. With Spartak he became a five time Czechoslovakian champion and won three national cups. In 1970 and 1971, he was named Czechoslovak Footballer of the Year. In 1977, he moved to Bohemians Prague. During his career he played 345 matches in the Czechoslovak league and scored 20 goals. In 1980, he was allowed to be transferred abroad and he went to KSC Lokeren in Belgium. Ferdinand Marschall (19 February 1924 – 14 November 2006) was an Austrian football referee. Ladislav Kuna
Ladislav Kuna (3 April 1947 – 1 February 2012) was a Slovak football player and manager, who played as a central midfielder. He played 424 matches and scored 86 goals in the Czechoslovak First League, all for Spartak Trnava. His number of appearances in the Czechoslovak First League was previously the record, and was only bettered by Přemysl Bičovský. Kuna was capped 47 times for Czechoslovakia, scoring nine goals. He was a participant in the 1970 FIFA World Cup. In 1969, he was named Czechoslovak Footballer of the Year. He was the chairman of Spartak Trnava from 2006 until his death in February 2012. Eric Thomas Jennings (22 January 1923 – June 1988) was an English football referee, who operated in the Football League and for FIFA. In his refereeing years he was based in Stourbridge in the West Midlands. Outside football he was employed as a technical representative for a water treatment company. Career Jennings was promoted to the Football League referees List in 1954, aged only 31. By the mid-1960s he was a leading English official and this was marked by his ascendancy to the FIFA List in 1966. The Olympic Stadium (Dutch: ''Olympisch Stadion'', ) is a sporting venue which was used as the main stadium for the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. The venue is currently used mostly for athletics, other sports events and concerts. When completed, the stadium had a capacity of 31,600. Following the completion of the rival De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam in 1937, the Amsterdam authorities increased the capacity of the Olympic Stadium to 64,000 by adding a second ring to the stadium. In 1987 the stadium was listed as a national monument.
