The Spanish Gangster Disciples is a street gang that originated on the south side of Chicago, respectively in the vicinity of 88th & Houston in the South Chicago neighborhood. The gang was founded by Rudy Rios, who was a former member of the Latin Scorpions street gang. Gang symbols and colors Like the original Gangster Disciples, the main symbol of the Spanish Gangster Disciples is the Star of David. The Spanish Gangster Disciples also use pitchforks, winged hearts with devil horns and tails, and the numbers "19-7-4" - standing for the nineteenth, seventh, and fourth letters of the alphabet respectively (S, G, and D). South Holland is a village and south suburb of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States, within Thornton Township. The population was 21,465 at the 2020 census. History The area currently occupied by South Holland, Illinois, was first settled in 1846 by immigrants from South Holland, Netherlands. The Folks Nation is an alliance of street gangs originating in Chicago, established in 1978. The alliance has since spread throughout the United States, particularly the Midwest region of the United States. They are rivals of the People Nation. Formation The Folks Nation was formed on November 11, 1978, within the confines of the Stateville Correctional Center.
