Spadolini II Cabinet
The Spadolini II Cabinet, led by Giovanni Spadolini, was the 40th cabinet of the Italian Republic. The government remained in office from 23 August 1982 to 1 December 1982. This government was also known as the "Photocopy government", as identical to the previous Spadolini Cabinet. The cabinet fell due to the so-called "Lite delle comari" (''godmothers' quarrel''), i.e. a political conflict between the ministers Beniamino Andreatta and Rino Formica about the "divorce" between Minister of Treasury and Bank of Italy. Giovanni Spadolini
Giovanni Spadolini (21 June 1925 – 4 August 1994) was an Italian politician and statesman, who served as the 44th prime minister of Italy. He had been a leading figure in the Republican Party and the first head of a government to not be a member of Christian Democrats since 1945. He was also a newspaper editor, journalist and historian. He is considered a highly respected intellectual for his literary works and his cultural dimension. Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Florence, he was the author of numerous historical works. He was also a journalist and editor-in-chief of the Bolognese newspaper ''Il Resto del Carlino'', then of the Milanese newspaper '' Il Corriere della Sera''. Spadolini was the first Italian Minister of Cultural Heritage and Environment from 1974 to 1976. Beniamino Andreatta
Beniamino "Nino" Andreatta (11 August 1928 – 26 March 2007) was an Italian economist and politician. He was a member of Christian Democrat, and one of the founders of the Italian People's Party in 1994 and of the Olive Tree coalition in 1996. Early life and career At the Liceo Classico Giovanni Prati di Trento was a school friend of Giorgio Grigolli, later President of the Autonomous Province of Trento. After graduating in law from University of Padua in 1950, receiving the award for "best graduate of the year", he later completed his studies in economics at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, and as a visiting scholar at Cambridge. Raffaele Costa (born 8 September 1936 in Mondovì) is an Italian politician. He was the President of the Province of Cuneo, from June 2004 to June 2009.
