Space (The Devil Wears Prada EP)
''Space'' is the second EP by American metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada. The album was released on August 21, 2015, through Rise Records. It is the group's first release without guitarist Chris Rubey. It is also the band's second conceptual release, after the release of their concept EP ''Zombie EP'', in which they embarked on a five-year anniversary tour earlier in 2015. This is the last release by The Devil Wears Prada to feature original drummer Daniel Williams after he departed with the band in July 2016. Composition Vocalist Mike Hranica described the album as being very "thematic". Brian Leak of ''Alternative Press'' referred to the EP's sound as "spacecore". "Planet A" is about the astronaut Elizabeth, who experiences a malfunction that sets off the events of the EP. "Asteroid" is credited in the album notes as "An Asteroid Towards Earth". The Devil Wears Prada is an American metalcore band from Dayton, Ohio, formed in 2005. Previously a Christian metalcore band, it consists of members Mike Hranica (vocals, additional guitar), Jeremy DePoyster (rhythm guitar, vocals), Kyle Sipress (lead guitar, backing vocals), Mason Nagy (bass), Jonathan Gering (keyboards, backing vocals), and Giuseppe Capolupo (drums). The band had maintained its original line-up until keyboardist James Baney left the band. ''Plagues'' is the second studio album by American metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada. It was released on August 21, 2007, through Rise Records and was re-released on October 28, 2008, with bonus content. Background and promotion The recording session for ''Plagues'' began during winter 2006 with Joey Sturgis as the chosen producer. The name of the album is a biblical reference to plagues in the book of Revelation. Mike Hranica, the vocalist, considered it to be "very visually appealing", although not as important as the meaning placed behind it. The recording was completed in spring 2007 and the album was released on August 21, 2007. ''Plagues'' was re-released on October 28, 2008. The bonus content for the re-release includes an alternative cover, booklet art and a DVD which has footage of The Devil Wears Prada playing at Ultimatour and Warped Tour in 2008. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. Zombie EP
''Zombie'' is the first EP by American metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada. It was released on August 23, 2010. The band announced they would tour in support of the EP's five year anniversary, where they will play the album in its entirety. A sequel EP, titled '' ZII'', was released on May 21, 2021. Background and recording The planning and writing for ''Zombie'' began before the summer of 2010.
