Grigori Kozintsev
Grigori Mikhailovich Kozintsev (russian: link=no, Григорий Михайлович Козинцев; 11 May 1973) was a Soviet theatre and film director, screenwriter and pedagogue. He was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1964. In 1965 he was a member of the jury at the 4th Moscow International Film Festival. Two years later he was a member of the jury of the 5th Moscow International Film Festival. In 1971 he was the President of the Jury at the 7th Moscow International Film Festival. Biography Grigori Kozintsev was born in the family of a doctor, therapist and pediatrician Moisei Isaakovich Kozintsov (1859–1930) and his wife Anna Grigorievna Lurie was from a rabbinical family from Kyiv. The Height
''The Height'' (Russian: Высота, Translit.: Vysota) is a 1957 Soviet drama film produced at Mosfilm and directed by Aleksander Zarkhi after the novel of the same name written by Evgeny Vorobyov. It stars Nikolai Rybnikov and Inna Makarova. Plot A team of steel erectors has been redeployed to a steel mill construction site in a small town. The head of the squad, Nikolay Pasechnik, is a shockworker of Socialist Labour and reputed to be a darling of the women and a quick wit. Gutta-percha Boy (russian: Гуттаперчевый мальчик, Guttaperchevyy malchik) is a 1957 Soviet drama film adaptation of the novel by Russian writer Dmitry Grigorovich. Plot The film is set in the end of the 19th century. Petya, is an eight-year orphan who has been given into training to the German acrobat Karl Becker, who with curses and beatings introduces his new assistant to the circus profession and ruthlessly exploits the child in his performances. The only consolation which brightens the harsh life of the ''gutta-percha boy'', as Petya is referred to on the posters, is the concern of the carpet clown Edwards, who pities the orphan and secretly teaches him the real art of the circus... Erast Garin
Erast Pavlovich Garin (russian: Эра́ст Па́влович Га́рин; – 4 September 1980) was a Soviet and Russian actor, director and screenwriter. He was, together with Igor Ilyinsky and Sergey Martinson, one of the leading comic actors of Vsevolod Meyerhold's company and of the Soviet cinema. He was named People's Artist of the USSR in 1977. __NOTOC__ Garin was born in Ryazan as Erast Gerasimov. He started his acting career in 1919 in an amateur theatre of the Ryazan military district. In 1926 he finished his education in the experimental theatrical workshops of the People's Commissariat for Education. He always looked up upon Meyerhold and Michael Chekhov as his mentors, rejecting naturalistic acting techniques propagated by Konstantin Stanislavski and paying utmost importance to voice and gesture. Nikolai Nikolayevich Rybnikov (russian: Никола́й Никола́евич Ры́бников; December 13, 1930 – October 22, 1990) was a Soviet and Russian film actor. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1981). Biography Early life and education Nikolai Nikolayevich Rybnikov was born on 13 December 1930 in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Oblast. His father Nikolai Nikolayevich, was a factory fitter and his mother, Klavdiya Aleksandrovna, a housewife. He also had a brother, Vyacheslav. With the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Rybnikov the elder went to the front, and the mother took her sons and moved to Stalingrad to her sister, believing that it would be safe there. But from the front they received news of the death of his father. Soon after receiving the tragic news, Klavdiya Aleksandrovna also died. Eldar Aleksandrovich Ryazanov (russian: Эльдар Александрович Рязанов; 18 November 1927 – 30 November 2015) was a Soviet and Russian film director, screenwriter, poet, actor and pedagogue whose popular comedies, satirizing the daily life of the Soviet Union and Russia, are celebrated throughout the former Soviet Union and former Warsaw Pact countries. ''The Girl Without an Address'' (russian: Девушка без адреса, Devushka bez adresa)) is a 1957 Soviet romantic comedy film directed by Eldar Ryazanov and written by Leonid Lench. It stars Svetlana Karpinskaya and Nikolai Rybnikov. Plot Young builder Pasha Gusarov meets on the train a girl of a quarrelsome nature, Katya Ivanova. At the beginning, their relationship does not go well, but by the end of the trip they become attached to each other. Nevertheless, fate makes its own adjustments. Isidor Markovich Annensky (russian: Исидор Маркович Анненский; 13 March 1906 - 2 May 1977) was a Soviet screenwriter and film director. Annensky was named Merited Artist of the RSFSR in 1971.
