Southern Sydney is the southern metropolitan area of Greater Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Southern Sydney is a title for the regions and neighbourhoods which fall directly south and south-west of the Sydney CBD from the southern boundaries of Central Station down to the Airport and St George region around the southern and western shores of Botany Bay with the southern most concluding point being the Sutherland Shire. The Division of Sydney is an Australian electoral division in the state of New South Wales. History The division draws its name from Sydney, the most populous city in Australia, which itself was named after former British Home Secretary Thomas Townshend, 1st Viscount Sydney. Eastern Distributor
The Eastern Distributor is a motorway in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Part of the M1, the motorway links the Sydney central business district with Sydney Airport. The centre-piece is a tunnel running from Woolloomooloo to Surry Hills. Built as a build-own-operate-transfer project, it is 75.1% owned by Transurban. The motorway opened to traffic in December 1999 with the project completed in July 2000. It is only tolled in the northbound direction. Cleveland Street is a busy thoroughfare near the central business district of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. From west to east, it runs from City Road in , across the railway lines between Central and Redfern stations and east through , crossing the Eastern Distributor and South Darling Street, to terminate at Anzac Parade, .
