South Croydon Railway Station
South Croydon railway station is in the London Borough of Croydon in south London, in Travelcard Zone 5. It is on the Brighton Line at its junction with the Oxted Line, measured from . The station is managed by Southern, and the station is served by both Southern and Thameslink services. History Originally South Croydon was a terminus next to the through lines of the Brighton Line but without any platforms on them, the end of a extension of the local lines from New Croydon, opened by the London Brighton and South Coast Railway on 1 September 1865. The aim was to provide more space for reversing local trains than could be afforded at busy New Croydon. The rapid growth of the town in this area may also have been a factor. In 1894 the railway obtained authority to extend the local lines to Coulsdon, where they connected with the new Quarry line. Redhill railway station serves the town of Redhill, Surrey, England. The station is a major interchange point on the Brighton Main Line, measured from . History The local topography determined that it was cheaper to build and operate a railway line between London and Brighton which by-passed the parliamentary borough and long-established market town of Reigate and instead passed through the nearby Redstone or Red Hill gap in the Reigate Foreign (countryside) parish. Redhill () is a town in the borough of Reigate and Banstead within the county of Surrey, England. Three Bridges railway station is located in and named after the village of Three Bridges, which is now a district of Crawley, West Sussex, England. It is at the point where the Arun Valley Line diverges from the Brighton Main Line and Thameslink, down the line from via . History The original Italianate style railway station on the East side of the line at Three Bridges was opened in July 1841 by the London and Brighton Railway at a point next to their proposed branch to Horsham. Tattenham Corner Railway Station
Tattenham Corner railway station is in Surrey, in England. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Southern, and it is the terminus of the Tattenham Corner Line. It is from . It lies on the outskirts of Epsom and is the closest station for Epsom Downs Racecourse, where the Derby is held and the British monarch traditionally alights from the British Royal Train in those years when attending the Derby. The line serving it was opened (as the ''Chipstead Valley Railway'') in stages between 1897 and 1901, with the commissioning of the final section coinciding with the opening of the station on 4 June that year (by which time the SER had absorbed the independent company).
