South Christian High School (SCHS) is a private Christian high school in Byron Center, Michigan. It offers classes from the 9th through 12th grade. SCHS is affiliated with Moline Christian School, Byron Center Christian School, Dutton Christian School, Legacy Christian School, all of which provide K-8 Education. Matthew Todd Steigenga (born March 27, 1970) is a retired American professional basketball player. He was a 6'7", 220-40 lbs. power forward who most notably played a part of one season with the Chicago Bulls and a season in the Liga ACB. He is currently a broadcaster for Michigan State basketball games. Early life Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Steigenga showed athletic ability at an early age, winning the National Football League's Punt, Pass, and Kick for youths at age nine. Brian Jeffery Mast (born July 10, 1980) is an American politician and U.S. military veteran who has served as the U.S. representative for Florida's 21st congressional district since 2017. The district, numbered as the 18th district from 2017 to 2023, includes portions of the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. Mast is a member of the Republican Party. A veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Mast lost both his legs while serving as a U.S. Army explosive ordnance disposal technician in Afghanistan in 2010. David Anderson Kool (born September 23, 1987) is a former collegiate basketball player for the Western Michigan Broncos men's basketball team. Kool is WMU's all-time leading scorer and was named Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Year in his senior season. Brian Lee Diemer (born October 10, 1961, in Grand Rapids, Michigan) is a former American track and field athlete, who mainly competed in the 3000 metre steeplechase during his career. He was high school state champion in the mile while running at South Christian High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1983 after taking third in the 2 mile at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, held in nearby Detroit. He won the outdoor 1983 NCAA 3000m Steeplechase in a time of 8:26.95. He competed for the United States in the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, United States in the 3000 metre steeplechase where he won the bronze medal in a career best time of 8:14.06. Ben Cook (born September 29, 1993) is an American professional golfer. Amateur career Cook competed for South Christian High School and Ferris State University. Professional career Cook turned professional in 2017 and played on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica in 2018. He has worked primarily as a club pro since then. Cook made the cut on the number at the 2021 PGA Championship, his third appearance at the event.
