South American Championship 1935
The 1935 South American Championship was the thirteenth edition of the football tournament, held from 6–27 January 1935 in Lima, Peru, used for Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay to qualify for the 1936 Summer Olympics. Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay withdrew from the tournament. There was some doubt the tournament would take place as during the 1930 FIFA World Cup, where Uruguay defeated Argentina, 4–2 in the final match, Argentina broke off football relations with their Uruguayan counterparts, claiming to have been heavily pressured, and that aggressions had been directed at them, before and during the tournament. Six years after the previous edition, it was decided to continue the tournament. The tournament itself did not have a trophy in dispute. Herminio Masantonio
Herminio Masantonio (5 August 1910 – 11 September 1956) was an Argentine football centre-forward. He played most of his career for Huracán and represented Argentina at international level. Masantonio is one of Huracán's legends, being the all-time top scorer of the club. Besides, he is placed 3rd. in the list of Argentine Primera División top scorers with 253 goals in 358 matches. Despite those outstanding marks, Masantonio was never top scorer of an individual season. He didn't win any official title with Huracán, either. Teodoro "Lolo" Fernández Meyzán (20 May 1913 – 17 September 1996) was a Peruvian professional footballer who played as forward. All his football work was carried out as a player of the Universitario de Deportes of the Peruvian First Division. He was champion, best player and top scorer in the 1939 Copa América. He is the top idol of Universitario de Deportes and Peruvian First Division. Agustín Héctor Castro Rodríguez (29 November 1904 – 15 September 1960) was a Uruguayan football player and coach.
