South African Women's Cricket Team In India In 2019–20
The South Africa women's cricket team toured India to play against the India women's cricket team in September and October 2019. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and six Women's Twenty20 International (WT20) matches. The WODI matches were not part of the 2017–20 ICC Women's Championship. Ahead of the tour, India's Mithali Raj retired from WT20I cricket, to focus on the 50-over format on the run-up to the 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup. South Africa's captain, Dane van Niekerk, missed the series due to injury, with Suné Luus leading the team in her absence. India had initially won the WT20I series, after a win in the fourth match gave them an unassailable lead. India had also won the first match, with the next two fixtures abandoned due to rain. Mithali Raj
Mithali Dorai Raj (born 3 December 1982) is an Indian cricketer and a former captain of the India women's national cricket team from 2004 to 2022. Mithali is the highest run-scorer in women's international cricket and is considered one of the greatest cricketers of all time. Mithali holds numerous records in international cricket. She is the only female cricketer to surpass the 7,000-run mark in Women's One Day International matches. She is the first player to score seven consecutive 50s in ODIs. She also holds the record for most half-centuries in WODIs. Jemimah Jessica Rodrigues ( ; born 5 September 2000) is an Indian cricketer. She is an allrounder who plays for the Indian national women's cricket team and Mumbai women's cricket team. Squadron Leader (retired) Shikha Subas Pandey (born 12 May 1989) is an Indian cricketer and former officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF). She plays for the national cricket team as a right-arm medium pacer and middle-order batter, and was an IAF air traffic control officer. Taniya Bhatia (born 28 November 1997) is an Indian cricketer. She is primarily a wicket-keeper. She plays for Punjab and India. She is currently trained under coach RP Singh.
