Sousa, Paraíba
Sousa is a municipality in the state of Paraíba in the Northeast Region of Brazil. It lies in the region called the Valley of the Dinosaurs, which contains a protected area containing dinosaur tracks. The municipality established the Valley of the Dinosaurs Natural Monument, a fully protected area, in 2002. Sports Sousa Esporte Clube is the municipality's football club. The Valley of the Dinosaurs ( pt, Vale dos Dinossauros) is an area in the state of Paraíba, Brazil, that contains many fossilized dinosaur tracks. It contains the Valley of the Dinosaurs Area of Relevant Ecological Interest, a sustainable use area of relevant ecological interest. This in turn contains the smaller and fully protected Valley of the Dinosaurs Natural Monument. In 2015–16 there was concern that renovations to the tourist attraction, which had been delayed through lack of funding, might not be respecting the integrity of the site. Sousa Esporte Clube, commonly known as Sousa, is a Brazilian football team based in Sousa, Paraíba state. They competed in the Série C and in the Copa do Brasil three times. Sousa is currently ranked fourth among Paraíba teams in CBF's national club ranking, at 143rd place overall. History The club was founded on July 10, 1991.
