Sound (band)
Sound is an independent Filipino jazz band composed of Dru Ubaldo (drums), Erwin Fajardo (keyboards), Sach Castillo (vocals/guitars), and Francis Magat (bass). History In 1996, Paolo Lim, Chino Yuson, and Sach Castillo formed the band Third Stone, an allusion to a Hendrix grind. Later, the trio collaborated with percussionist David Esteban and keyboardist James Bitanga. Originally, the band intended to be a reggae outfit, but several compositions later, the group went into a different direction. In 1999, the band met Erwin Fajardo, to become the new keyboardist. Together with Castillo, the two started writing songs. By 2001, the band had enough material for an album, and eventually settled for the band name Sound. Live shows and albums Sound's live shows are Manila-themed, influenced by groups ranging from The Beatles, Corduroy, Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder, and Steely Dan, all flavored with a love for original Filipino music. Mariana, is an administrative division in eastern Metro Manila, the Philippines. Reynaldo Valera Guardiano, better known as Rey Valera (born 4 May 1954), is a Filipino singer, songwriter, music director, film scorer and television host. He wrote and produced songs that were recorded by various singers, most notably Sharon Cuneta. He was a judge of the singing contest ''Sing Galing!''. He was a former head judge of the singing contest segment "Tawag ng Tanghalan" in a variety noontime show '' It's Showtime''. He is the cousin of former Abra Governor Vicente P. Valera. ''Kami nAPO Muna'' is a tribute album to the 1970s Filipino musical group, APO Hiking Society. Released in 2006, the album features covers of APO Hiking Society songs, performed by a number of Filipino bands and artists. It was followed by a second tribute album, ''Kami nAPO Muna ULIT'', in 2007. Title The album's title, ''Kami nAPO Muna'', loosely translates to "our turn now" in Filipino; the phrase is also a play on the name ''Apo''. The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as APO Hiking Society, or simply APO, was a Filipino musical group and one of the pillars of Original Pilipino Music (Original Pilipino Music, OPM) composed of Danny Javier†, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garrovillo. Fort Andres Bonifacio (formerly named Fort William McKinley) is the site of the national headquarters of the Philippine Army (Headquarters Philippine Army or HPA) located in Metro Manila, Philippines. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime.
