Soong Ching-ling Children's Literature Prize
The Soong Ching-ling Children’s Literature Prize 宋庆龄儿童文学奖(pinyin: ) is a prize for children’s literature in China. It is sponsored by the Soong Ching-ling Foundation, and is awarded every two years, with a different genre specified each time. It is one of the four main prizes for children's literature in China (the other three are the Bing Xin Children's Literature Award, the Chen Bochui Children's Literature Award, and the National Outstanding Children's Literature Award). History The prize is named after Soong Ching-ling. It was established in June 1986 with the aim of recognising writers who have made an outstanding contribution to children’s literature, and of promoting the creation of children’s literature in China. It was established with the support of writers Ba Jin, Xie Bingxin, and the Ministry of Broadcast, Film and Television, Ministry of Culture and the State Education Commission. Soong Ching-ling
Rosamond Soong Ch'ing-ling (27 January 189329 May 1981) was a Chinese political figure. As the third wife of Sun Yat-sen, then Premier of the Kuomintang and President of the Republic of China, she was often referred to as Madame Sun Yat-sen. She was a member of the Soong family and, together with her siblings, played a prominent role in China's politics prior to and after 1949. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, she held several prominent positions in the new government, including Vice Chairman (1949–1954; 1959–1975) and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (1954–1959; 1975–1981), traveled abroad during the early 1950s, representing her country at a number of international events. During the Cultural Revolution, however, she was heavily criticized. Huang Beijia
Huang Beijia (; born 1955) is a Chinese writer of fiction for adults and younger readers. Biography Huang Beijia was born in 1955, in Rugao, Jiangsu Province, China. She started writing in 1972 and her first works were published in 1973, focusing on the lives and emotions of intellectuals, at university and in society. Many of her earlier works feature female students, navigating emotional relationships, and attitudes towards Chinese masculinity. Representative works include ''Carnival Every Night'', ''Midnight Cocktail'' and ''Century Romance.'' She has subsequently become a renowned author for children and younger readers, and was China's nominated author for the 2020 Hans Christian Andersen Award. Zheng Chunhua
Zheng Chunhua (; born 1959) is a Chinese writer best known for writing children's literature. She is noted for her book ''Big Head Son and Small Head Dad'', which was a besteller among children's literature, and the adapted animation with the same name, released in 1995, was also a big hit. Biography Zheng was born into a Hui people family, in Chun'an County, Zhejiang in 1959. After high school, she worked in a farm and soon became a nursery governess in 1979, after the Culture Revolution. Zheng started to publish works in 1980. That same year, her poem, ''Little Bed'', won first prize at the Shanghai Youth Poetry Creation Contest. In 1981, she was assigned to Shanghai Adolescence and Children Press as an editor. Jin Bo (; ; born 20 January 1993 in Helong, Yanbian) is a Chinese footballer of Korean descent who currently plays for Guangzhou R&F in the Chinese Super League. Club career Jin Bo went to Portugal following Chinese Football Association 500.com Stars Project and joined Casa Pia youth team system in December 2011. Ma Ming (; born October 1957) is a former Chinese politician who spent his career in northeast China's Jilin province and the nearby Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. He was investigated by the Communist Party of China's anti-graft agency in December 2019.
