Newtownmountkennedy
Newtownmountkennedy () is a small town in County Wicklow, Ireland. It developed within the historic townland of Ballygarny () (now Mount Kennedy Demesne), although all that remains is a motte where a church, graveyard and a castle or tower house once stood just north of the town. It acquired its present name in the mid-seventeenth-century, when Sir Robert Kennedy, M.P. for Kildare, made it his principal residence. It is just off the N11 road to Wexford, just south of Kilpedder and south-west of Greystones. It is about north of Wicklow town, south of Bray and approximately from Dublin. The R772 regional road passes through the village. This was the main Dublin-Wexford route, the N11, but the village was bypassed by the new N11 dual carriageway in 1990. This town has one of the longest place names in Ireland. Between the 2011 and 2016 census, the population of the town increased by 17.6% (from 2,410 to 2,835 inhabitants), one of the highest growth rates in County Wicklo ...

Tír Na NÓg (band)
Tír na nÓg are an Irish folk duo formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 1969 by Leo O'Kelly and Sonny Condell. They are often considered one of the first progressive folk bands with other artists like Nick Drake or groups like Pentangle. Their music mainly consists of their own compositions, based on strong Celtic roots and typically featuring intricate acoustic guitar playing and close harmony singing. In their early years, they toured the folk clubs of the United Kingdom or internationally as a support act for several rock bands. Today, they sporadically give concerts, especially in Ireland. From 1971 to 1973, Tír na nÓg made three studio albums which were highly acclaimed by critics but did not obtain commercial success. No recording of live performances had been officially released until 2000, with the publication of '' Hibernian''. A compilation of some of their live tracks recorded between 1972 and 1973 for John Peel's radio show was also published one year later. Format ...

A Tear And A Smile (Tír Na NÓg Album)
''A Tear and a Smile'' is the second album by Irish band Tír na nÓg. It was released in the United Kingdom on 7 April 1972 by Chrysalis Records and was the first Tír na nÓg album to be released in the United States, in October 1972. The track list is different between the US and the UK releases. Because of this, two editions of the album exist but there was no reissue of the North American version. On this last one, " Daisy Lady" and "Dante" are taken directly from the first album '' Tír na nÓg''. The song "Looking Up" was already on the previous album but Leo O'Kelly was not very satisfied by the first version: he and Sonny Condell decided to record a new one, produced by Tony Cox, for ''A Tear and a Smile''. The Lady I Love which was released as a single in Europe, appears also on the US version of the album, these four songs replacing "Down Day", " Bluebottle Stew", "Hemisphere", and "Goodbye My Love".
