Sonic360
Sonic360 Records is a British record label founded by record producer Chris Allison in June 2000. Its headquarters are in London with a subsidiary in the US, Sonic360 Inc. Artists that have signed to the label include Mexican electro-funk rock outfit Kinky. They gave Chris Allison a three song demo presented on a cassette tape in 1999 while he was producing Plastilina Mosh in Monterrey Mexico. They signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Sonic360 in the summer of 2000. Kinky's eponymous debut album was co-produced by Chris Allison and was nominated for the Best Rock Album award at the 3rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards (2002) and Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album at the Grammy Awards (2002). Chris Allison
Christopher John Allison (born 1961) is a British record producer and founder/head of Sonic360 Records. His work has been associated with artists such as The Beta Band, Coldplay, Walter Becker, Kinky, Plastilina Mosh, Emmanuel Jal, The Wedding Present and Shack. Influenced by a range of musical styles encompassing rock, jazz, hip-hop, electronic, world and Latin. In his career spanning 1984 to the present, Allison has worked mainly as a record producer and label owner. He is also well known amongst fans of the band Shack for having the only copy of their album Waterpistol following a studio fire allowing it to be released. Emmanuel Jal
Emmanuel Jal (born Jal Jok 1 January 1980) is a South Sudanese-Canadian artist, actor, former child soldier, and political activist. His autobiography, ''War Child: A Child Soldier's Story'', was published in 2009. Childhood Jal was born to a Nuer family in the village of Tonj, Warrap State in the Bahr el Ghazal region of Sudan (now South Sudan). He does not know exactly when he was born, and records his date of birth as 1 January 1980. Jal was a young child when the Second Sudanese Civil War broke out. His father joined the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) and when he was roughly seven years old, his mother was killed by soldiers loyal to the government. Kinky (band)
Kinky is a Mexican rock band, formed in 1998 as part of the Avanzada Regia musical movement and consisting of Gilberto Cerezo, Ulises Lozano, Carlos Chairez, Omar Góngora, and Cesar Pliego. Although a majority of songs are sung in Spanish, some songs contain English lyrics. Kinky were discovered and signed by Sonic360 Records. ''Circus Money'' is the second and final solo album by Walter Becker released on June 10, 2008 through the 5 Over 12 label (an imprint of Mailboat Records) both in CD and digital download formats and July 14, 2008 through Sonic360 for the rest of the world outside North America. The release is notable for not having the participation of fellow Steely Dan founder and bandmate, Donald Fagen. The cover artwork features graphic work inspired by a photograph of a Yup'ik mask, reproduced in Ann Fienup-Riordan's ''The Living Tradition of Yup'Ik Masks''. Becker wrote that after obtaining the rights to re-use the photograph (from Fienup-Riordan as well as the book's publisher and the original photographer), the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History (where the mask is held) was notified of the intended use of the photograph. Larry Klein (born March 17, 1956) is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is based in Los Angeles. Donald Fagen
Donald Jay Fagen (born January 10, 1948) is an American musician best known as the co-founder, lead singer, co-songwriter, and keyboardist of the band Steely Dan, formed in the early 1970s with musical partner Walter Becker.
