''Songs for Dustmites'' is the debut album by American musician, actor and former ''Blue's Clues'' host Steve Burns. It was released on August 12, 2003, by PIAS America. The album was produced by Dave Fridmann, member of alternative rock band Mercury Rev and the producer of most of the albums by The Flaming Lips; and Ed Buller. After quitting ''Blue's Clues'', Burns, "in a position where ecould do what ewanted", decided to collaborate with Fridmann and other members of The Flaming Lips. After receiving multiple offers from various record labels, Burns chose PIAS America. ''Songs for Dustmites'' is a pop/rock or indie rock album, and its lyrics are mostly about "science and love". It received positive reviews from music critics, although some of them believed that the album was only good because of his collaborations. Steven Drozd
Steven Gregory Drozd (born June 11, 1969) is an American musician and actor. He is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter for the Flaming Lips, Electric Würms, and other projects. Early life Drozd was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Richmond and Rosenberg, Texas, with three brothers and a sister. He attended George Junior High & BF Terry High School. His father, Vernon, was a member of the polka band Vernon Drozd and the Texas Brass. At the age of ten, he began playing drums with his father's band and later played piano in various country honky-tonk groups. After high school, Drozd moved to Oklahoma City and performed, mainly on drums, with a number of underground bands in the area. The Flaming Lips Drozd joined the Flaming Lips in 1991 as a drummer. While his style is influenced by the drum sounds of the 1970s, his time spent with his father's polka band helped him develop a sense of delicacy and syncopation. ''Fight Test'' is an extended play (EP) released by the Flaming Lips released on Warner Bros. Records in 2003. The single version of "Fight Test" was released on June 23, 2003, peaking at number 28 on the UK Singles Chart. It is the third single to be picked from the album ''Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots''. It is an enhanced CD, containing covers of Radiohead's "Knives Out", Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out of My Head", and Beck's "The Golden Age". In addition, the EP includes two original songs. The UK version was a normal CD single, which also featured some previously unreleased songs. ''Fight Test'' was nominated for Best Alternative Album at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards. They Might Be Giants (often abbreviated as TMBG) is an American alternative rock band formed in 1982 by John Flansburgh and John Linnell.
