Songjiang South Railway Station
Songjiang South railway station () is a railway station on the Shanghai–Hangzhou high-speed railway located in Shanghai, China. With the construction of the Shanghai-Suhu Railway Station in Songjiang and the upgrading of Songjiang South Station to the "Songjiang Hub" in 2024, the scale of the high-speed rail will be expanded from the current plan of 2 platforms and 4 tracks to 9 platforms and 23 tracks, second only to Hongqiao Station (16 tracks and 30 platforms) and the under construction Shanghai East railway station (14 platforms and 30 tracks), the third largest high-speed railway station in Shanghai. The scale of the Songjiang hub station building will be approximately 60,000 square meters on the line, and it is predicted that the passenger flow in the future will be about 20 million or more per year. Songjiang District
Songjiang is a suburban district (formerly a county) of Shanghai. It has a land area of and a population of 1,582,398 (2010). Owing to a long history, Songjiang is known as the cultural root of Shanghai. Songjiang Town, the urban center of the district, was formerly the major city in the area. It is now connected to downtown Shanghai by Line 9 of the Shanghai Metro. Shanghai–Hangzhou High-speed Railway
The Shanghai–Hangzhou high-speed railway (), also known as the Huhang high-speed railway or Huhang passenger railway is a high-speed rail line in China between Shanghai and Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The line is in length and designed for commercial train service at . It was built in 20 months and opened on October 26, 2010. The line shortened travel time between the two cities from 78 to 45 minutes. The line is also used by trains departing Shanghai's terminals for Nanchang, Changsha, Guiyang, and Kunming making it part of the Shanghai–Kunming High-Speed Railway. Shanghai East railway station () is a planned new station in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai. It will be located beside Shanghai Pudong International Airport, forming a future major intermodal passenger transport hub. Songjiang Tram
Songjiang Tram (also Songjiang Tramway) is a light rail tramway in Shanghai, China. The system consists of two lines (T1 and T2) totaling with 42 stations. Unlike the Zhangjiang Tram, Songjiang trams use centenary power supply and steel-wheeled rail systems. Most of them use independent rights of way. The intersection signal lights were adjusted through the system to make them pass first, and the running speed reaches 25-30km/h. Trains run from 6:00 till 22:00. With further extension of the network public transport modal split in Songjiang is expected from the current 23% to 40%.
